“Simply WOW!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 5, 2013

We absolutely LOVED our two day stay at this wonderful hotel! We were greeted by a super friendly man at the front desk after being very impressed with the exterior of the hotel. We had a room on the fifth floor, and my children were enthralled with the fantastic key system that you just need to wave over a sensor and apparently cannot be deactivated by cell phones. Our room was clean, modern, comfortable, and had everything we needed. The parking lot felt safe since you needed your key to access the guest parking which takes up the 2-4 floors. To access the elevators after parking you once again used your key, which helped make it seem safer as well. Guest rooms start on the fifth floor, which also houses the laundry, fitness room, and access to the outdoor pool and hottub area overlooking northern San Antonio. The hottub was very warm and comfortable, and my children enjoyed the pool.

The breakfast was wonderful with plenty of hot selections. Drury hotels also seem to offer an afternoon meal/snack, which we had one of the days we stayed. Our meal consisted of salad, chicken strips and fixings for salad, and two different types of soup. The food was wonderful, and also complimentary beverages were available during the meal time. We were greeted by the manager and he took a keen interest in our opinion of the hotel and the meals. Everyone was very friendly and helpful!

It was a wonderful stay and I would do so again next time in San Antonio.

To begin, this hotel price is so affordable when compared to other hotels that offer 1/2 of the amenities! $120 for a King 2-room Jacuzzi Suite?!?!?! WOW! You walk in and enter a sitting area with a sleeper sofa, nice big tv, desk, ample lighting and a large upholstered chair and a dresser with ample drawer space. You walk down a short hall where you will find a microwave, refrigerator and bar (with coffeemaker and complimentary coffee). Then the next room will be the oversized bathroom with a 3 PERSON JETTED JACUZZI TUB and a separate oversized walk-in shower that will easily fit two people! At the back of your suite is the master room which can be closed off via a door. In the room, it has another nice big tv, dresser with plenty of drawers, two night stands, an upholstered chair, ample lighting and larger-than-normal closet. The hotel also provide complimentary alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks in the evenings, a wonderful breakfast - not cold cereal and bagels like most hotels - I'm talking warm pancakes, giant waffles, bagels, donuts, muffins, fruit, yogurt, coffee, juice, scrambled eggs, potatoes, sausage patties, biscuits and gravy and more! You will save big money by eating their amazing breakfast instead of overpriced breakfast chain food. So when you take that savings into consideration, you are spending like $70 or less per night on your hotel room. My husband and I usually stay at the Drury Plaza on the Riverwalk. We love it as well. But their prices are a bit steeper (of course you pay for convenience). But we just loved this location... central to EVERYTHING! 30 minutes from downtown, 30 minutes from seaworld, 15 minutes from Fiesta Texas, 30 minutes from the Zoo. It is a nice area, great dining nearby as well. I really love everything Drury Hotels have to offer and will continue to stay in them for future trips. We visit San Antonio an average of 2-3 times per year. We have stayed in several hotels and by far, Drury outdoes them all. I will make one small note... the Drury PLAZA hotels are much nicer and offer different amenities than the regular Drury Inn's. So my experience with Drury stems from the PLAZA hotels only. I highly recommend this location. VERY clean as well. =)

Room Tip: Pick the 2-room suite vs. standard room. The 2-room suite is the same rate and offers more space!

We were traveling across the country and stayed at this hotel for it's location and because of their dog friendly policy. This is one of the best dog friendly hotels we have stayed at. Clean, comfortable and an excellent staff made for an excellent stay. We met family here and stayed for 3 nights, it has an excellent location. The morning we left we wanted to be on the edge of San Antonio because of the heavy morning traffic. This hotel has an excellent location to multiple highways and you can miss much of that rush hour traffic, and we never heard a sound at any time in the 3 days we were here. The view was lovely and had a fantastic view for the gorgeous San Antonio sunsets If we travel back across we will definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Higher floors provide a wonderful view of the hill country.

Working in the North Loop in San Antonio, I stayed at the Drury Plaza Hotel.
The hotel is new, so it is decorated very nice, beds are super comfy and staff was very helpful and friendly.
I stayed on the 10th floor and never heard a sound at any time in the 2 days I was here. The view was lovely and had a fantastic view for the gorgeous San Antonio sunsets.
This hotel has a rooftop pool and hot tub which is perfect for outdoor swimming. It is above the noise from any street or expressway activity.
Restaurants are plentiful in this area, but you do have to walk a ways to get to them. If you are a woman traveling alone, this may not be ideal for you. If you are walking to dinner then I would be back before it is too dark, even though the area felt safe.
I would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: staying on the 10th floor, it was exceptionally quiet. Great views as well.

Wonderful Place to stay.. We stayed here after a day at Schlitterbahn.. The front desk staff was great upon checkin.. The next morning we had breakfast in lovely breakfast area. The General Manager was there seating people.. He talked to us a while about our plans in San Antonio. We also saw him cleaning tables which to me is amazing. It doesn't get much better than this Hotel and I stay in alot of them for work..

I was very impressed with this hotel. There's a Drury Inn next door, so be sure you book the Plaza. This hotel has a great lobby area. They provide a good solid hot breakfast, great happy hour that includes food (hot dogs plus chili was one of the choices) as well as the fixings for a salad. Free parking is available in their multi level parking garage or outside ground level parking. The location offers easy access to San Antonio attractions as well as downtown. Hotel seems to be very new; very clean,
. Only drawback is no on-site restaurant, but there are quite a number of great restaurants close by.

Room Tip: Suites are not that much more and they offer a separate room from the bedroom area.
