“Overall very happy with this hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 9, 2013

We loved the location of this hotel, the breakfast and the happy hour (soda, beer, margaritas and a few mixed drink options plus cheese, veggies, trail mix, fruit and chips/salsa). Since the hotel is concrete, we could not hear any noise from other rooms except by the door. Only 2 complaints, were: Despite a large bathroom, there was no place to hang towels. We could not get the temperature to stay cool at night - guessing it must be motion triggered.

I stayed at this Embassy Suite Riverwalk in April 2013 while in town for work. Although it was not as close to the Convention Center as some other hotels, the walk along the Riverwalk was beautiful. The rooms were very nicely decorated and quiet. Front desk staff were extremely helpful and pleasant. The complimentary breakfast and evening cocktail hours were attended primarily by families. Business travelers looking for a quiet spot to wrap up reports, or return phone calls just need to be mindful that there may be some giggling children in the background.

Room Tip: I had a corner room on the third floor which was nice and quiet.

This was our first trip to San Antonio and we wanted to stay somewhere on the Riverwalk. We always pick Hilton properties because we have had great experiences with this chain and we are Hilton HHonors members. The hotel is located somewhat away from the main action of the Riverwalk which can be a good thing but the Alamo and other attractions are only a 10 minute walk away. Our room was enormous with a view of the river. We had a great stay at the Embassy Suites Riverwalk and will choose this hotel again when I come back to San Antonio.

Room Tip: Try to get a River view room

My family & I stayed at this beautiful Embassy Suites last week. Everything about it was top notch. Great location. Beautiful clean lobby. Very nice room. I wish we could have stayed longer. I hope to make it back there one day again with the family.
Thanks for the short but sweet stay.

Not much to add to the other reviews. It was pretty expensive for the two nights we stayed, but our corner room was awesome - actually "rooms". We had a seperate living room from the two queen bedroom. This made it nice since one member of the family wanted to go to bed and watch a TV show, while we sat in the living room watching basketball. We also had a nice view of some of the downtown buidings.
The breakfast spread was great (some say free, I say not really based on what we paid for the room).
Location is very convenient to the main part of the Riverwalk, and not too far from the Alamo.

Room Tip: Ask for a corner room!

This two year old hotel more than lives up to it's hype. The decor is beautiful, the beds are comfortable and the rooms are roomy with a convenient lay out. I fail to understand any negative comments about the breakfast as we found it to be well expedited no matter what time we arrived and virtually everything imaginable was offered, and was hot and good. The complimentary happy hour was also lovely with nice array of alcohol offered and fruit, vegetables and nachos nightly with decorated cupcakes on Easter Sunday. The only drawback was some confusion at the front desk, although several of the employees there were helpful and friendly, and also a bit of computer confusion as we were listed as checking out two days early, therefore not receiving housekeeping services one day. This was quickly rectified with a phone call. The locate is ideal at the end of the Riverwalk with easy access but not the noisy crowds. I would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Avoid the 8th floor at the end of the hall , as occasionally there is an interruption in water press...

We recently spent an evening here with our extended families. The valet, Troy, did an amazing job of coordinating all of our cars and luggage (since we were a larger group and arrived before our rooms were ready). Caitlyn was also helpful in getting us rooms near each other on a fully booked night. The rooms are wonderful -- spacious, quiet, comfortable. We loved the added security that elevators require your room key to access the upper floors. Most are familiar with all of the great features of their suites, so I'll skip all of that. Wi-fi is available for an additional fee but worked well from our rooms.

The evening reception is a nice treat. Dinner at Luke's was unimpressive (but that's a separate review). Breakfast was wonderful, despite being incredibly crowded (lots of families with small children). The walk to the riverwalk restaurants is just close enough for easy access but far enough to leave the noise behind.

A great stay, and a repeat visit won't be far off!
