“Not one complaint here!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2011

My husband and I stayed at here for five nights in July, we were in town for our sons graduation from Air Force Boot Camp. On the 5th day we both agreed that we didn't have one complaint. We were a little surprised at the $20+ charge for valet parking but it is in the city and parking just isn't free anywhere. The valet guys were awesome, very quick and friendly. The hotel is new and it shows. The lobby is huge, lots of living room type areas with comfy furniture like you would have in a home - not typical sterile hotel furniture. Families and large groups could hang out and enjoy the nightly 2 hour drink and snack time. It never seemed noisy even though there were hundreds of people at times. The eating area for breakfast is huge - and I love that they stretch breakfast out for 2 hours and serve until 11 on weekends. The staff was always friendly and helpful - I hope we get to come back to San Antonio and we will stay here again without a doubt. Oh - I did think of one thing they could improve on, the in room coffee was really bad, even when I made it super strong it really didn't take like coffee at all. But, there was a Starbucks just down the street.

This hotel is shiny, new, & beautiful. It is at the far end of the Riverwalk which means it is quiet, but it also means that it is a rather long hike to the middle of the action. But in the heat of July, the walk probably felt a bit longer than it actually was.

The staff was helpful and friendly, but there was one big problem: Breakfast. The service was haphazard. They were consistently out of glasses, silverware, milk, juice, etc. Perhaps it was a busy weekend and they were not used to so many diners, but it didn't seem overly crowded. (The restaurant rating is based on the breakfast service, not the steakhouse.)

Also, the rooms seemed smaller than most Embassy Suites and the pool was tiny, so don't expect a leisurely soak after a day in the hot, Texas sun.

Wow, a hotel with a suite in the riverwalk for a reasonable price!!! Great place to visit SA with family, parking is pricey but got no other convenient choice at the riverwalk. The hotel is brand new so everything is pristine. Staff is great. Will come back for sure.

Room Tip: does not have kitchenette or free internet.

Stayed here during a hot weekend in July. The hotel is beautiful, rooms spacious, and very COLD with the a/c way down. Beds the most comfy I have ever had in a hotel. We loved the breakfast every morning, and participted in the 2 hours cocktail hour every evening before having dinner on the riverwalk.
Pool was nice and cool, in the shade in the late afternoon. Nice poolside bar with food service was a plus.
Would definately stay here anytime we are in San Antonio. A very good value with the extras.

The hotel was great. When we arrived, we were upgraded to a corner room, which was plenty of space for five people. The hotel has excellent access to the Riverwalk (out the back door). The hotel was not that far from the main Riverwalk restaurants, clubs, and mall. The breakfast was not as good as some other Embassy Suites I have stayed at, but can't complain, it was free. The dining areas was a little crowded, depending on what time you arrived. Nothing beats the Manager's reception. The only downside is the $27 a night parking fee and fee for wireless in the room. When I go back to San Antonio, I will be staying here. The price was good for the location.

My wife and I decided to stay on the Riverwalk for a night on our way to Port Aransas from Fort Worth. The Embassay Suites Suites lived up to its Hilton Family tradition of great rooms with great service. We received an upgrade to the hospitality suite on the 17th floor.. awesome view of the Riverwalk and the city. You can't beat the free drinks during hospitality hour in the evening, though the snacks were just very basic snack foods so do not plan on making a meal out of it. The free hot breakfast was good.. but it was hard to find a clean plate, not sure if they need a new dishwasher or what, but the plates were filthy so watch out. all in all they do a good job considering the number of people they are serving. The valet parking was a plus. Your car is parked safely in the underground garage, which was good because our car was full of beach stuff. You can park across the street and save $7, but your car is in a public parking lot, in the sun and heat and unprotected overnight. The valet staff was excellent. They also serve as the bellmen.

We stayed here for a family three night get away. We have 4 kids ages 9-14 and "The Big E" as we call it is about the only hotel we find where we can all "fit" without having to purchase the second room. So we frequent them as often as we can and the complimentary cooked breakfast is a huge plus as well.
We arrived late on a Friday evening or early Saturday morning about 1:00. The hotel only offers valet parking for $27 per night which I had read previously no surprise. There is a parking lot across the street that is $20 but no security. We did valet, we had lots of luggage with a large family so I asked for a cart and he said he couldn't just send a cart with us he would have to go up as well but didn't really seem as though he wanted to so we carried it all.
Our room was beautiful!! Nicer than most Big E's we have stayed in!  Room was very cool, and stayed that way our entire stay, which is great in early July in Texas. Beds were very comfortable. We had a room with a view of the riverwalk and the pool. We were walking distance of the main part of the riverwalk, and the Alamo.
Breakfast the following morning was packed. My husband actually had to stand to eat, which I do understand it was July 4th weekend. The food itself and selection we didn't feel was as good as what we are accustomed to with the Embassy but still good and plenty of it. The second morning it wasn't near as crowded could have been that we went much earlier. We didn't eat with them the last morning.
We didn't take advantage of the evening reception.
Valet on the morning we went to Seaworld was quick, we called from the room and our car was waiting when we got downstairs. Valet was very helpful asked where we were headed and even gave us printed step by step directions on how to get there!! Nice!!
The morning of departure we called down to get our car and they had a message saying we couldn't call down we had to come down. Once we turned in our tag for the vehicle we had to wait 15 minutes for our car. People were coming down and getting their cars right away and we still waited...I asked one of the guys why we were still waiting and he said it is coming..,no explanation as to why it was so long. It wasn't  crowded at all so I wasn't sure what the hold up was.
All in all I think this hotel was wonderful just a few things I think could be worked on.
