“Great hotel near the Riverwalk, Rivercenter Mall and the Alamo”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 11, 2012 via mobile

This hotel was a great place to stay for our family visit to the Riverwalk, Rivercenter Mall and the Alamo — all are in walking distance. We just left our car with the valet and avoided the hassles of driving and parking downtown.

The room was nice, with a full refrigerator, dishwasher, cooktop and other things that would make an extended stay more comfortable.

The continental breakfast was better than others I've had, with a couple of different hot items in addition to the usual fruit, cereal, pastries and waffles.

Overall, a nice place to stay in downtown San Antonio.

Rooms with fridge, microwave, stove. Newer and very clean. Staff could not have been more eager to help. Everytime I went in or out I had a question on the way and they had an answer or found one. Yeah, if you drive you have to valet park, but the cost of valet plus room is still less than alot of other downtown hotels just for the room. Free hot breakfast makes up for valet cost too! I parked on street then moved to a lot two blocks away next morning, then back to street. Saved $30.

Room Tip: The top two or three floors were added and are newer than the rest of the building.

Nicely renovated old building, clean rooms, great location to Alamo and riverwalk. Probably the smallest room I have ever stayed in -- in the USA. Even smaller than hotels in NYC. Good free breakfast. Small courtyard lap pool-- but very nice.

This hotel had a great location just two blocks from the Alamo and the Riverwalk. Many good restaurants within walking distance. Nice mini-suite room layout that includes full size fridge, stove, microwave, dishwasher (and pots/dishes). Hot continental breakfast included was okay, but not great.

Two blocks from the Alamo. The same from the Riverwalk. Competitive prices. Prices are reasonable. For a small fee you can get valet parking, which in the downtown is a tremendous value. EVERY SINGLE ONE of their service team, concierge, parking valets, everyone made a point of greeting us, answering any questions about everything from restaurants to places that might be interesting. Every morning came with complimentary breakfast in their large and welcoming common space. And not the same generic every day. A breakfast that would have cost us $10 or more each every day. The room itself had the typical Southwest high ceilings and a full kitchenette: equipped with pots, pans and service for four! And if you got the "midnight munchies", there is a "market" in a small room behind the front desk, with ice cream, microwaveable meals (and there IS a microwave in your room). A great place for someone checking out a beautiful city.

This was a great location, a few blocks from the Riverwalk and all the attractions. Many restaurants are within walking distance. The staff is really warm and friendly and very professional. Breakfast (complimentary) was okay, and quite varied for free. The kitchenettes were really usable, as they had pots and pans, dishes, dish towels and soap and a full sized refrigerator/freezer. This would be a great place for an extended stay. The property is modern, clean and well, kept. The only complaint I had was that the a.c. was not working in the fitness room, so you really get your sweat going. Overall, a great stay.

Room Tip: The courtyard rooms, while covenient are noisy. Go higher for a quieter stay.

My husband I were visiting the area for a few days prior to the start of conference at the Grand Hyatt. We chose this location as it was affordable and fit all the needs of our trip. It was a great choice. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. It has been over a year since our visit but we talk of going back to explore this fun city.
