“So much to try, such small stomach”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 15, 2013

Great place if you have the appetite (and room) for all the Brazilian style bbq. Good service, atmosphere, and friendly staff.
Do make reservation and plan on being there away so you can try all their offerings.

“No way to eat all the amazing food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 15, 2013 via mobile

Now, I'm a big eater but there is no way to consume all of the food offered. The service is fabulous. There is always someone meeting a need I.e. Filling glasses, taking plates, etc. and the salad bar is amazing. It's a lovely place with amazing food. Recommend the experience!

“Tasty and great for high protein eating plans”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 8, 2013

Of course, there's LOTS of food available...make that lots of TASTY food-that's what Fogo de Chao does in all their restaurants. For our quick visit to San Antonio, we wanted to stay on our eating plan so we went to the CASTLE OF PROTEIN.

Sure, the salad bar (what an underwhelming term for such an overwhelming good selection) is enormous. The sides are alluring (plantains always get me). But the proteins are the main act. Racks and racks of every kind of protein are ushered to your table simply by flipping the card from red to green. You won't stay 'green' very long--your plate will be filled by the legion of servers descending with the tasty racks of chicken, lamb, pork, beef, beef, beef and beef. Did I mention beef? And it is all tasty.

..and this location is next to the RiverCenter Mall in the Marriott hotel--very close to just about any place you want to walk.

If you're on a high protein eating plan this is the place for you to stay 'plan legal' and enjoy a tasty, if somewhat pricey, dinner.

“An amazing meal experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 7, 2013

The salad bar is amazing, but DON'T over do it! You will want a lot of room for the meats, and the bread, and the sides, and the dessert. The waitstaff are knowledgeable, attentive and second to none. Don't forget to flip your red/green card or you'll be overwhelmed with meat choices. The papaya cream may not seem like worth it but it actually does make you feel less full and is DELICIOUS. We had a flaming brandy which tasted like cotton candy (w/a kick) and was great fun to watch being prepared and lit. Be prepared to spend plenty of time at Fogo de Chao - not because the service is slow, but because you'll never want to leave

“MEAT FEAST”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 2, 2013

Excellent food coupled with a very nice salad bar. Great service. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting SA.
Don't worry you can stop the meat coming by flipping a card on the table.
