I've had churrascaria in Brazil on a couple of trips. Haven't tried the Fogo in Sao Paulo, but this one in San Antonio lives up to or exceeds your expectations.
The salad bar is excellent, although not as extensive as what I've seen in Brazil or at the competition here in the US. But who cares; the salad bar is just a distraction because you come here for the meat. And the meat is great! Again, the selection is a bit less than you'd find in Brazil, but that is not a drawback: there were at least 16 choices here -- it's enough.
The meat: Nothing was less than great. But to my taste, the winners were the picanha (prime sirloin) and the cordeiro (lamb). These were just so mouth wateringly perfect that I didn't want to quit even after eating too much.
Now, why might this be "better than Brazil"? Well in word, it's the service. I've traveled the world, and nowhere does the service beat what we have here. This is what you *won't* get in Brazil: sample the meats, get tiny pieces, decide what you like best, and when the wrong gaucho comes by, *tell him what you want*. I asked for more prime sirloin and lamb and within minutes, I was thronged by guys with the meat I'd asked for. You just can't beat this. I'd give the service here 6 starts if tripadvisor would allow it.
Oh, and the caipirinha's are better in Brazil but they're bigger here :-).
If you want a meat orgy, and you're not strapped for cash, this is your place. Highest recommendation.
