“Rain or Shine this place is Devine!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 31, 2013

Whether its raining and you find a nice quiet nook to play a game, or the sun is full blast and you are enjoying the amazing pool. This resort is top notch from the welcoming check ins to the warm cookie goodbyes. The rooms are spacious with soft comfy beds and large roomy bathroons. There is always something to entertain yourself with. TPC golf course is a dream for any level player. The wagyu fillet and lamb t-bone at 18 Oaks is to die for.

I elected to have our executive Meeting of approx. 75 people. This place was a hit Every one enjoyed the trip. Some brought children who had the time of their life on the slides and lazy river. The meeting rooms were large, well staffed and well taken care. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for your next meeting

Room Tip: We had group and every room was outstanding

The property is beautiful. With two golf courses and 3 pools, this resort is really something to enjoy and relax at - except for the bees. They have a really bad bee problem. They swarm around the bar and the trash bins. The staff response to them was "They won't bother you if you don't bother them", but they were bothersome - they were brazen enough to go right into your drink! I wish they would take care of them so they aren't pestering the guests, but the staff doesn't do anything about them. Dissapointing. The pools were really nice and there are lots of areas to lounge at. There's a lazy river and 2 water slides. The adult infinity pool was one of the nicest pools I've been to and it overlooks the golf course. We had dinner at Cibolo Moon and the food was really good. They have a buffet with traditional "steak and potatoes" kind of fare. The other big restaurant on the property is a sports bar - which has massive TV screens that line the walls all the way to the ceiling, very impressive. The sports bar has really good food as well and serves a buffet breakfast in the morning. There are a few negatives I would give this place - 1) We were charged a $162 "resort fee" upon arrival. That gives you internet access, access to all the amenities - the pool, ect... I feel that the price of the room should already include access to all these things. I didn’t see this fee when booking and was definitely not a charge I was expecting to pay upon arrival and 2) EVERYTHING is expensive. Deodorant at the gift shop - $8 (?!) and be prepared to spend at least $25 at Starbucks for 2 coffees and breakfast sandwiches. Your typical frozen margarita or pina colada at the pool will run you $12 a piece. There's nothing in the area, so you are kind of forced to submit to their prices. Also - We requested that the sheets be changed daily. We requested this through the front desk and it was never done, yet our maid left a note in our room basically requesting a tip. I found that to be rude considering they didn't follow through on our wishes. Other than that the resort was beautiful and we had a really fun time!

Room Tip: Bring your own alcohol or be forced to submit to their prices. Price gouging at it's finest!

We are very particular when it comes to our hotels and traveling, and the Marriott gets 5 stars from us! The property is amazing, lots of places to sit and enjoy it, lots of great restaurants, and the lazy river is just paradise! Its very pricey, especially for parking and drinks, but that's typical of resort destinations. The room was clean, spacious and well appointed. We look forward to returning again for a relaxing weekend!

Once again the JW Marriott Hill Country Resort did NOT disappoint. I met my sister and her family at the resort for a complimentary 2 night stay on a Sunday/Monday. Even though the resort was extremely busy with lots of guests, we never felt slighted by any means. Most hotels (when they know you are staying for free or even a very low, discounted price) tend to change the way they treat you because they assume you don't matter. Well.... NOT the JW Marriott!! As we entered the very crowded lobby/check-in area, we were immediately greeted by a very friendly staff member who escorted us to the only available desk clerk.
From our prompt check-in to the accommodating 'late' checkout, we had a wonderful family stay. It was so nice to be there on a weekday after being part of the crowds at the pool on Sunday. It was very hard to find chairs together, we needed 4, but it finally happened.
Some of the other reviews complained about the crowd at the pool but what did they expect?? It is a very nice, family oriented resort. Any other water park in the area was probably just as crowded.
Thank you Mr. Moreno for the special "treat" we received in our wonderful room - with a GREAT view!! My family was very surprised and very appreciative!
One area that I feel needs attention is the restaurant situation. The Cibolo Moon offers a fantastic breakfast buffet; however, for a party of 6, the price is too steep. It would be nice to have a more affordable breakfast choice. We also ran into a problem with the River Top bar closing at 8:00pm each night. The pool stays open until 10:00 pm, which we took advantage of each night, but there was no easy way to get food after 8:00. The High Velocity Sports bar was open but having to go into the bar area (in bathing suits) did not feel comfortable. We made it work but would like to see the River Top stay open until the pool closes. It just feels more comfortable being in a swim suit at a restaurant/bar that is located poolside.
We will continue to visit the JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort and Spa every time we get the chance.

Room Tip: Juliette balconies are nice but I would rather have a balcony with chairs to be able to sit out in t...

This is a wonderful resort. Fun for the whole family. Great little waterpark. Some very nice restaurants onsite. Check our review of Cibolo Moon restaurant. Very nice!

The rooms are a bit high priced but the place does meet expectations for that price level.

Well worth it!

7-24-2013 - A friend and I had lunch at the Cibalo Moon restaurant and then enjoyed the Lantana Spa. If I lived in San Antonio I would visit this Spa at every opportunity. I have an 80 minute service but spent several hours enjoying very nice 'spa' pool, the steam room, etc. The staff makes you feel like a 'queen' if only for a day! I ask about day passes. You can only by the day of use but for a cost of $30.00 that is a great value. We had a salad for lunch that included fish. It was only average. The atmosphere and service were exceptional.

Room Tip: I did not stay at the hotel during this visit. I have stayed in the past. I would always ask for a...
