“Seaworld Family Fun”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 23, 2012

great hotel to stay as a family. First environmental green hotel for the Holiday Inn group.
everything centered around families as well as buisness. Lots for the kids to do there, outdoor and indoor pool, hot tub, full gym, resturaunts, free shuttle to Seaworld. Rooms were very nice and kept clean. Non smoking hotel, but smoking balcony on every floor for us who do smoke.
will be coming back to stay again and reccommend to my friends and family.

Room Tip: if you have kids get a suite with seperate bedroom

This was our first trip to San Antonio. I booked this hotel through Sea World and was a little nervous after reading some of the reviews. I'm not sure about their experiences, or exactly why they complained so much, but the staff was very friendly and accommodating, the rooms were clean, and were cleaned daily along with fresh towels and wash rags when asked for. The shuttle was great, the food from the grill was good and the breakfast buffet was great! (The breakfast is only complimentary if you have the Sea World package) I have no complaints! WE have an 8 yr. old and a 4yr.(who is terrified of water) so the kiddie pool and shallow addition to the regular pool was a plus. We will definitely be staying here again when we return in a few months.

Our main reason for staying at this hotel was its proximity to SeaWorld. We had a party of 11 in 3 rooms. 5 adults and 6 kids. The rooms were purchased on Priceline, so I was satisfied with the cost. I paid 80 bucks per room for the weekend following July 4th. We checked into the hotel after spending the morning at Aquatica. We arrived around 2:45 PM and had no problems checking in before 3:00 PM. The staff at the front desk were accomodating and helpful. One family in our party needed two double beds, and not the queen bed provided. The staff was able to move them to another room but it did require an additional charge as an upgrade. My family needed an additional bed as well, but no more rooms were available with two double beds. The hotel staff quickly provided a roll-away bed which suited our needs.

After a long hot day at Aquatica, all we wanted was a nice, clean, and cool room to recuperate, and we found this in the room that was provided. We normally travel with our pillows from home and a can of Lysol to combat our mild mysophobia, so all that is generally expected is a reasonably policed room and no mystery stains on the sheets so all was good.

Arrangements were made to catch the shuttle from the hotel to SeaWorld the next day, and again, the front desk personnel were accomodating and helpful. Our party was large enough to fill the whole shuttle so we were able to reserve it for our use at our desired time. Not only was the complimentary shuttle convenient, it saved us from paying for parking again at the park. Our experience with the hotel shuttle was made completely awesome by our driver Jeff. Jeff was kind, humorous, and professional. He offered us useful information about SeaWorld and the attractions that we might enjoy. He picked us up from the park and dropped us off for lunch, then returned and took us back to SeaWorld. Jeff assisted us with our bags and strollers and had cold bottled water available for us. Top notch service.

We will stay again on our next visit to Seaworld/Aquatica.

I stay 40 nights a year on business with Holiday Inn / Holiday Inn Express ( Priority Club Platinum member ) In 2011 my family and I booked this with a connection to Sea World. For the money it worked and met our needs. ( close to Sea World, new - 3 meals downstairs and a bar ) - however I found the hotel very noisy. 2012 we are here again. So I feel I have a handle on a a review.....- 12 months apart
+ The walls are thin- again I stay 40 night plus a year - these are thin walls. Turn the stat to fan - or expect to hear your room next door - how a new hotel was built this way ( this bad ) is beyond me.

+ There are kids, - if your ok with kids going from door to door, running down the halls - check in... if your a parent reading this - keep your kids under control - ( YOUR NOT AT HOME )

If your trying to stay in this area - to get work done- consider another locations.

For a hotel need close to Sea-World, I believe the rate was in line with the room and location.

As others metioned in reviews- staff could use coaching, however my general impression is that it's a numbers game, there aren't enought staff, from front desk to cleaning to resturant for the volume of customers. The averager guest isn't that savy and the result is without better numbers or coaching this hotel will remain open and money making since it feeds off it's location. Not due to it's own work.

Room Tip: End of hall - far from elevators.

First room was not cleaned. We were upgraded to a suite. We found Fritos by the bed making me wonder how clean the room was. Bedding did appear clean. Loud elevator noise until late at night followed by crying children in the hallway early the next day.

PM Check-in was a positive - staff very pleasant. Our room was on 5th floor and far enough from elevator to help keep hall noise down.
We were traveling with 2 dogs - a first for us here. We rearranged arm chair to place rugs for 2 dog crates - the trim along floor was filthy. When we started to retrieve ice bucket - it was full of water - another sure sign of improper cleaning.
We bring rugs, towels from home to keep our dogs tracks to a minimum. I clean up after my dogs are aired and at this hotel I carried extra poop-bags and cleaned up after irresponsible pet owners. Our trips out doors had to be changed almost every trip - broken beer bottles, trash all over parking lot, female sanitary products on the ground. I observed a "lady" scraping the bags of trash from her SUV directly on to the parking lot, then just walking away. One trip up the elevator was quite a surprise - a young man (pre-teen) poured his drink onto the floor of elevation - his mom said nothing, just exited and walked away with out a word. We notified staffnon our exit floor of the mess left by the kid. There were kids running the halls at all hours and one morning the dried decor located on the table at the elevator was strewn all down the hall.
I bring all this up to state that my dogs are very well behaved - well cared for, well mannered, and were petted by many, many people (little ones to big ones). And we had a $150. Extra pet charge.....after what we experienced - I think those charges should be applied to the kid in the elevator and the lady dumping her trash in the parking lot. We are priority club members and have been for years - please consider the event we werenin town for andnhow much business we brought to this hotel - even had our banquet there this year.

Room Tip: Try to get a room far from elevator and higher level Check cleanliness of your room - and report...
