“An Oasis”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 19, 2013 via mobile

If you have been spending a lot of time viewing all the history that San Antonio has to offer you will enjoy this oasis of natural beauty. There are displays of different Texas habitats and the typical landscaping styles that are very interesting on the left-hand side of the gardens and this includes a bird viewing area that is a nice stop along the way. The right hand side of the gardens includes a series of buildings that house more tropical displays. It is a little confusing getting into the viewing area if you come from the back of the garden as the entrance to the area is very limited. But it is worth the effort.

“A beautiful place to tour”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 16, 2013

Thousands of flowers in bloom--we appreciated markers with names of plants. Different gardens both outside and enclosed; walking trails; lovely cactus, bromeliads, cycads, vegetables and fruit trees. Morning is best time to go. Sadly, Japanese Tea Garden was closed for renovation.

“Relaxing and involving”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 16, 2013

These gardens relax and refresh the spirit. There is great variety: formal and informal gardens, a Japanese garden, a rose garden, native texas vegatation zones, and eco-friendly yard designs. These are as nice as any botanic gardens I've been to. If you can, go when the flowers are blooming.

“Peaceful, Beautiful, Great place for photo ops”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 16, 2013

We will come back here again next time we visit San Antonio. My husband and I and our 16 y/o and 13 y/o visited it. Can't say enough good things about this place if you love the outdoors and nature. Some really beautiful areas and lots of great places for family photo opportunities! Plan on spending a few hours here.
