Wow, I don't even know where to begin. How is it even possible to so thoroughly fail as a restaurant? I've eaten at dozens of Chinese places in San Antonio, and they all have had friendly staff, good prices, and food that is both tasty and abundant.
Rice fails on all levels.
The staff is outright rude and dishonest (one girl tried to get away with overcharging us for our meal), the food was mediocre, the prices were not competitive, and to top it off, there was an HOUR wait. If you were one of the unfortunate souls who bought the Groupon for this place, DO NOT tell them in advance that you are redeeming it. They treat you like a second-class customer and give you half-portions, which kind of defeats the purpose of Groupon: to draw in new customers.
I honestly see zero reason to ever come back to Rice, especially given the other numerous GOOD places nearby (e.g. Chin San) that don't treat you like garbage.
