“Mission San Jose”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 24, 2013

Beautiful grounds inside the walls and best representation of what the rest of the missions would have looked like in tact. My kids love it because there is a huge area to run around inside the barrack walls and my wife and I enjoy the stunning architecture in the chapel and beautiful arches. The gristmill in the back operates and is great for the kids to see how they used to function without computers! The diaramma is pretty cool too. It is narrated and lights up the characters while going through the daily life at the mission. Check before you go if you are planning on a photo shoot because the last time I was there the mission was undergoing restorations and had scaffolding around it. There are a few air conditioned spots to escape the heat and the headquarters near the parking lot is just like other national park shops. It is informative and rangers are present for questions. There is a gift shop and bathrooms there as well. Have been several times and will be back soon!

“Interesting National Park Stop in San Antonio”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 21, 2013

The kids had fun, looking into a site that is similar to the Alamo architecture. Some great family photo opportunities with ancient architecture and blue skies.
