I booked this hotel online after reading a bad review of a different hotel. This one appeared much nicer according to the pictures provided on the internet, and the previous review I'd read on here wasn't too bad. I booked a room for four nights, then called to make sure we could have early check-in. They said this would not be a problem at all. So I get to the hotel at around 1 (check-in was at 3) and was told that there were no rooms available right then, they're still being cleaned (which upon later inspection, I'm not sure what the staff is doing when they're "cleaning" because this place is DIRTY). I told them that I'd called ahead and asked that a room be ready by noon and the manager said, "I don't know who you spoke to, but there's no way we can gurantee that." Whatever. So I waited for a few minutes, and suddenly a room pops up. They get us checked in and I go out to get my kids and mom. We walk through the lobby (actually a tiny hallway with horribly stained carpet and a stench that I still haven't figured out) and make our way down the hall to our room (more stains, more stench). The room itself was okay size-wise - could have been a little more thought out in the space planning. It was very difficult to get around if you had the sofa bed pulled out, and who wants to continually put it up and pull it back out over the course of four days? We were provided with all of the usual staples - the kitchen was stocked with service for four, and a few pans, the bathroom had soap and towels but that was it.
The towels had seen much better days, and a few were actually worn with some holes. And God bless my Mom, she brought her room deodorizer which we sprayed EVERYWHERE, even out in the hall. The smell was like a combination of really bad body odor and even worse cheap perfume. It permeated throughout the hotel. There were some mysterious brown stains on the wall by the door - a splatter of some sort. And various stains on the carpet, and on the floor in the bathroom. The kitchen, I have to say, was quite clean. We went up to the grocery store to get some things for the kitchen and picked up some Clorox Clean-Up, which I sprayed all over the walls and bathroom. We stayed out of this hotel as much as possible - only coming back during the nap to let the children nap, then back again at night to sleep. My 8 year old mysteriously got a stomch virus and was only sick when we were in the room. He was fine while we were out sight-seeing, so who knows what that was from. There was also construction going on directly behind the hotel, so at 6am every morning we'd hear the bulldozers fire up and the ringing "beep-beep-beep" of the backing-up alarm on them. One day we missed maid service, so our trash wasn't emptied. we bagged it up and left it in the hall, assuming it would be disposed of. The girl in the front office stopped us on our way out and informed us that trash is not to be left in the hallway and directed us to the central trash location (what??). We had to go back to the room and take our own trash out since we had missed the maid service. I would definitely NOT recommend this place to even my worst enemy. This was not even an okay family hotel - when I mentioned the stains on the walls to the front office, she said "Oh, so it needs to be painted?" I was like, well, cleaning it might be better. Everyone says you get what you pay for, but I think this time we got considerably less. There is a Homewood Suites right next door if location is what you're looking for, but whatever you do - avoid this one.
