5-night stay Friday-Wednesday
+The service at this hotel was by far the best I have ever received, and I stay in Marriott's 99% of the time when travelling, usually 15-20 nights/year. All of the staff went way out of their way to greet you each time coming and going, and were very sincere and cordial.
+Breakfast was outstanding! They serve up a great breakfast including waffles that are cooked for you with a smile, assorted pastries/muffins, fresh fruit, hot and cold cereal and juices. Best of all, free.
+Free in-room wireless internet.

-Hotel is pretty dated, and furniture/fixtures are far from modern that you see in other Marriott properties. But they get the job done.

Overall Average Hotel and close to airport. Breakfast was below=average for what you can et at these types of hotels. On way out stayed at Courtyard by Marriott (right next to Fairfield) and for $10 more had a much better room and better breakfast. I'd definitely recommend the Courtyard.

Location is right next to Airport ($15.00 cab ride) and easy walk to two very good restaurants. If you are looking for a bad and a place to sleep....OK. But I'd move over to the Courtyard. We did and was the right move.

We stayed for 5 nights and it was very nice. The breakfast has a lot of choices and Anna is there to help out and will even make you a Texas shaped waffle. We had a suite with a frig and microwave. The bed was very comfortable. Since being close to the airport, on occasion I did hear a plane fly over early in the morning, but it wasn't too loud and only on 2 out of the 5 mornings. It never even woke up my boyfriend.

It is a little tricky to find since it's on a service road off a I410, but I had brought my GPS which made finding it easier. San Antonio's roads are pretty confusing period with lots of service roads and turn-arounds, so it's not that unusual for this hotel's location to be the way it is.

I originally made a reservation through hotels.com and was scheduled at Howard Johnson's until they overbooked. So hotels.com got me a room here at no extra charge to me. I love hotels.com, they really stand behind their customer service. Hard to believe Fairfield is rated 2 1/2 stars as is the Howard Johnson's. I couldn't have afforded the Fairfield rates, but was very glad to stay there.

The front desk is very friendly and even though there is only one elevator for the whole hotel, we never had to wait too long as someone complained in a previous review. And you can always take the stairs. There's a computer to use in the lobby for internet access and it's not always being used. There's a Courtyard Marriott on the other side of the parking lot and you can use their computer (if it's available) if the Fairfield's is busy. There is a great restaurant very close, Pappadeux, and the NorthStar Mall is also within walking distance. The hotel contributed to a enjoyable trip. I'd recommend this hotel to anyone.

If you're there on a Tuesday evening the San Antonio Museum of Art is free 4-9PM and it has a fantastic art collection.

Hard to find, tucked behind a restaurant and another hotel. Friendly staff. Clean. Nice room. Very comfortable bed and nice bedding. We paid the same for 3 different hotels in different Texas cities from priceline's name your price. This was by far the nicest we stayed at on this trip. Staff friendly and helpful.

The room was nice, the beds cozy and the bathrooms clean. The bad part was the cockroaches they had. I thought it might have been a one time deal, but when I found the 3rd one in one night in bed with me that was it. We asked to change rooms but that one was worse. it was infested with roaches, all over, when we woke up the next day they were everywhere, In total there must have been around 20 we killed and saw.
