“Visit if you're in San Antonio”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 21, 2014

Found this place from reading other Tripadvisor reviews. Excellent visit! Beautiful missions, lots of history, minimal crowds…a far cry from the crowded Alamo. If you’re in San Antonio, visit the Alamo of course, but make sure you take time to make the short drive to this beautiful park. You will enjoy!

“Visitor Center is the place to start on your tour of the Missions”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 21, 2014

While there are 5 Missions (if you include Alamo) in various states of reclamation/ decay probably the best one to see at first is San Jose as it houses the Visitor Centre. There you'll find an informative movie (Alamo has a History Channel one too which is very good) and a free walking tour with guide. Huge amounts of Southern Texas history are put into context so this is an educational as well as recreational starting point.

“Interesting tour and of San Jose Mission”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 19, 2014

We took the tour of the San Jose Mission and enjoyed the walking tour. The history was interesting and the interior of the church was beautiful. There is a nice gift shop with a variety of items and book. There are bikes that can be rented and used to ride to two other missions. Plenty of free parking.
