“Great Historical Sites”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 31, 2012

If you like history, then this is a great park to drive round and see the old missions. Difficult to get to if on foot. If you visit San Jose first, the ranger gives you a talk which was great and outlines the living conditions witin the mission, and the relationships between the friars and the Indians.

This trip explains the origins of San Antonio. Quite the drive (missions are spread out). I learned a lot and take visitors here all the time!

“Old world history”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 30, 2012

What I suggest is you take a sunny afternoon and either walk or ride your bike along the Mission's Trail and visit several of the Missions. I am not a religious person, but the history of the buildings, the beauty of their presence, the peacefulness of the grounds... it is definitely more than worth your time and energy. You can also drive to the Missions and this is also an excellent way to absorb the energy of an era gone by. Very peaceful and restful experience.

“Beautiful Missions”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 25, 2012

The missions are a very relaxing place for a family visit and picnic. Call ahead of time and find out when guided tours are provided because they are really worth it.
