“good value”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 5, 2013

The price was good for the location and what you would expect for the amenities (not a lot of extra service). A good deal if you like to be left alone. It is on the river walk. It is a bit of a walk along the river to the main loop, but not too bad. The staff were friendly and responsive when we made request. Changed our room to one with sleeper couch and brought towels without a fuss. But most of them were a bit lazy and didn't really anticipate needs. They could really give any recommendations and weren't very knowledgeable. They didn't clean the room and provide towels one day (may have been a miscommunication after we asked them to come later in the day the first day. The restaurant food was just ok, over priced, and took forever. Easy to get in and out and park.

Thank you so much for your review. I do apologize for the poor service you received during your stay. That is not the normal service we do provide. I have discussed your concerns with the appropriate departments. Once again I do apologize, and hope we see you again soon.

Overall the hotel is really average. The food is really not good at all. They never have anything from their menu and you still end up paying full price for items. I've been staying at the hotel for 4 months now due to wanting to increasing my priority member points. However, I think about going to another hotel everytime I seem to order food service.

The staff overall are very helpful with the exception of one guy that typically works nights. He is truly obtuse and not helpful at all.

We stayed at the Hotel Indigo with Family the last weekend of Dec. 2012. The room are larger than most rooms which is great if you have a toddler. However they put us in room 232 which is at the front of the hotel facing St. Mary's Street. Avoid the rooms at the front of the hotel if at all possible. You can hear people talking from outside so imagine the wonderful noise all night where there is a bus stop right across one street from your window. The noise makes it impossible to sleep and the buses run all night.
The hotel is away from the crowds at the center of the Riverwalk, but use some caution when traveling here. The hotel is not the best place to be at night. We took the city streets to get back to the hotel instead of going along the Riverwalk. We walked passed four used syringes along the way. Not the best neighborhood, but that is true of much of the Riverwalk when you go up to street level on that side.
The rooms could have used a little more help in the area of cleaning. Two of the cups were dirty and did not look like they had even been cleaned - one in the bathroom and one near the refrigerator. Worst part was the inability to sleep due to noise and traffic.
Positives the rooms are large and were updated.
Avoid the restaurant. Ate there for dinner - food is overpriced and not well prepared. You can find better places to eat within walking distance.

Room Tip: Avoid room at front of hotel on the side with the New Station. Bus stop is right there and since you...

The cleanliness of the hotel was okay, the carpet in the hallways looked like they need some cleaning. The staff of the hotel was average, and with it being the holidays, there was not much to do in the hotel due to the restaurant and bar being closed. Would have loved the bar to be open and stay opened later due to the hotel being a cab ride or short drive away (don't recommend walking in that area due to some suspect characters walking around). 13 dollars to self park was about average for the area and they did allow pets which was nice. Would recommend for someone who wants to be close to downtown, but not be around the noise of downtown. Room service closes at 10, so if you want a late night snack, take something to put in the fridge in the room for later on. Hope this helps!

Room Tip: Would recommend to get a room overlooking the river if available, but with only 3 floors, not much t...

I recently stayed at this hotel while on business in San Antonio. My room was huge and very clean. The decor was nice and the bed was very comfortable, no complaints from my back during this stay! On the down side, my first night there I had to take a cold shower because there was no hot water. My room was also a little drafty. The location is okay but at the far end of the river walk. In all I could stay here again.

This is my first stay in hotel indigo and I have to say I am pleased with the whole experience. The rooms are plain cool. I will be hoping to find another indigo on my next trip. Everything from the river walk access off the back patio to the leather ottomans in the rooms. You truly feel like you walk away from the city when you enter the courtyard at the front of the hotel

I am in love with this hotel! We got the king executive and it was very roomy. The bed was comfortable, hardwood floors were nice compared to the normal carpet at every other hotel. The his and her sinks were awesome! Shower head was nice. The only thing I do have a complaint about is the keurig coffee maker was very dirty but I called for a new and they brought it up very quick. Also there was old yogurt left in the fridge but its okay, we just threw it away. Now the location of the hotel is not on the busy part of the riverwalk. To some it might be a negative but I liked that it was quiet and serene. The walk to the main part is about 20-25 minutes so we took the river taxi which was awesome! Overall the hotel and staff were very nice and welcoming. We will be back for sure and get the king executive again!
