Great Location, Great Stay.Close to everything downtown without the huge price of staying downtown. Words of advise: don't valet park for $17 when you can park across the street at the mall for $8 per day and feel more secure about your ride. Also note to go to the Crockett Holiday Inn website to save an additional 30% off the room.Pool was a little small,it stayed full all day and night.

Our family was sent on a business trip for a week at this hotel. We looked at some online photos and thought "Wow..they're placing us some place nice!" When we arrived the place was far from beautiful. We stayed in the "historic part" of the hotel. And let me tell you..it was historic alright. The carpets and bed sheets were stained, the bathroom was decent and the curtains had collected dust since the "historic age". Our A/C happened to be broken so they sent a man to fix it. Well he said he fixed it and didn't so they sent him up again and still. So we had to stay a week in a NON A/C room in summer. A small tid-bit: The TV has like 6 stations so if you're looking for fun..better leave! The upside was the location which was right across from the mall. The balcony was just looked like it recovered from a tornado. The rooftop view was also not a sight to see. The restaurant is WAAY pricey for what you order. You're better off walking the distance to McDonalds and saving at least 5 bucks!! Trust me..if it's class or DECENCY you're looking for..this is NOT the hotel!

I went to San Antonio for a bachelorette party, I booked this room because it was only $85 a night. It was difficult to find and attached to the Historic Crockett Hotel. The Historic Crocket Hotel looked much better on the inside, but it looks like they have taken over the Holiday Inn side and it is terrible. I am not a picky person, but the rooms are tiny, the carpet is old, the bathroom tiles were stained with mildew (I am serious), one of the beds in our room even had a sink in the center. I would never stay here again. If you decide to stay here, make sure you request to stay in the Historic Crockett hotel, not the Holiday Inn portion. It is disgusting. I was embarrassed for booking this hotel for my guests. Now, if you want a cheap place to sleep - this will work, but it is not clean at all. I would never stay here again. We ordered 2 bottles of champagne for the room and the bottles never showed up. I've stayed at the Hilton before and it was $175 a night, but well worth the rate.

We were lucky enough to receive a room in the main building and it was fine even if a bit on the small side. The only negatives were the tiny, slow elevators and a broken ice machine on our floor but this was manageable. However, I was a female traveling alone with a child and I was not pleased when I was told that there was no available parking.
The desk clerk advised me to park in the mall garage which I protested against strongly due to safety issues but it made no difference. She said that we might be able to get valet parking the next day but since we were out all day, it was full again and we headed back to the mall garage. The only plus is that the parking was apparently less costly at the mall and we also didn't have to tip anyone but I felt insecure about leaving my vehicle there all night. One amusing sidenote was that there was no room to park in order to pick up our luggage when we checked out. I rolled my large bag down the sidewalk and into the mall which caused a lot of people to look twice!
