“Interesting but..”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

It was interesting way to pass half an hour but at $18.00 per person it was WAY over priced! For what we saw I would have expect 6.00 per person at best. Stuffed deer, badgers, moose and such, guns and uniforms behind glass, a tilted room..and some disturbing pictures from freak shows ( two headed calf type). If I had folks visiting, I would not waste my money to take them here.

Hello,

Thank you for taking the time to review our saloon and museums. I'm sorry you felt that the museum was overpriced. We feel that the price is comparable with many other downtown attractions and since the ticket is good for two museums and is valid for two days-it is a great value. Thank you again for your review.

Sincerely,

“Three times a winner!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 3, 2012

We always enjoy whatever we've ordered at the cafe. The animal heads and lovely historic bar add a special atmosphere to your meal. Eric and his staff are courteous and friendly. They have upgraded their menu and have great specials. We loved our brisket tacos, and our parents enjoyed their buffalo chicken sandwich. Stop in before you go to Alamo Plaza---you won't be disappointed!

“smelly”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 24, 2012

This place was smelly for some reason. I would not go back. It was not nearly as interesting as it sounded online.

Hi Crystal,

Thanks for your review. I'm sorry you were disappointed in your museum visit. I would love to hear exactly what was "smelly." We updated our exhibits in August of 2011 and have added smells to our museum to enhance the visitor experience and to engage all of the senses, but we didn't think of it as "smelly." If you could, please email me and let me know what the smell was. We definitely need to fix that in case we are offending our guests. Thanks so much!

“Use a coupon!!!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 24, 2012

This place is very cool! You can even drink a beer as you walk through. At one point in the museum it goes from educational/outdoorsy to circus entertainment. Like dresses fleas, a two headed cow. To me this just cheapened the museum. It was cool it just belonged at Ripley's. All in all it was a good place to visit.

“Lots to See!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 22, 2012

We stopped in for a visit at the Buckhorn Saloon and had some peanuts and a Lone Star beer. Unlike other establishments in San Antonio, you can take pictures in here of anything you like. We did not go through the museum but we did enjoy sitting at the bar for a few beers and talking to the cowboys out front. We had to stop in just because it's the oldest bar in San Antonio and we did take pictures of some critters!
