Keith Foster designed this golf tract in the midst of an abandoned cement quarry belonging to the Alamo Cement Co.
We have played here regularly and it is one of our favorite courses in the area.
The pro shop employees are very friendly and the starter is a great guy who was a legendary high school coach in San Antonio.
Stan handles starter duty and pace of play. He actually tracks all groups when they start and when they make the turn. This makes a round of golf go as smoothly as possible for all the golfers.
The course has matured nicely and is in great condition.
The first nine is more like a links course with native grasses and undulating berms.
The back nine has lots of long carry shots over quarry walls. There are several big elevation changes and greens with multiple bunker protection.
The area around the Quarry has grown into an upscale shopping center with luxury housing complexes.
The Quarry golf course will delight golfers of all skill levels.
Yes, I recommend this course.
