“Great Place”

Been staying there for a week at a time for 15 years! Susanne and Wanda are gems..and so is their cat, Salem...we invite him into our room for a visit! They brought us home made chili last time I was there! I just reserved another week beginning Sept. 9th, 2012. Nice rooms with micro and fridge, sofa, comfortable beds, coffee and coupon for Dunkin Doughnuts just across the street.. (next to 2 more restaurants) What more could you ask for a motel?
I read several reviews which were terrible! I wonder where these people stayed...it couldn't have been The Clipper Ship I know! Of course, there are tons of spoiled people out there with a chip on their shoulders, just looking for something to complain about! They don't know that if they are rude to others, more than likely, they will get the same traeatment in return! I own two shops in a tourist town and I know first hand how rude some people can be...they think the world revolves around them and that everyone else is there to be their servant! So glad I wasn't raised that way! I'm 68 and Mom always taught me to see something good in every situation!

Room Tip: Be nice to people at ALL places like this. They are in constant contact with the public and who kno...

Myself and 2 friends stayed at the Clipper Ship Inn the first of August 2012. We went to explore the history of Salem. We found it very economical, safe, and clean. After talking with Suzanne regarding the different reviews, some very extreme, and us staying there first hand, I disagree with their reviews. This is a motel, not a hotel or a resort. We were treated very well and enjoyed our stay.

Room Tip: WiFi reception is better with a room closer to the office.

Very nice and very clean motel. We had a really pleasant stay. The location was good and it was easy to get to all the attractions. The staff couldn't of been nicer, they were very accommodating. Rooms were nice and spacious. The keurig was a nice surprise. Restraints were close by. Area was quiet. Ample parking. Great stay and half the price of some of the other places.

We just spent a couple of days at the Clipper Inn and found everything very pleasant. Price was fair and reasonable considering the good location in a very popular town. Beds were comfortable and there was a great coffee machine otherwise the room was pretty standard. There was a nice green area with picnic table outside. Very quiet. Salem has lots of great cafes and restaurants.
When inSalem spend a few hours in old Marblehead across the bridge.

first, the staff was friendly,Anything we needed was handled quickly and easily. The place was within walking distance of just abut everythng in town. The area is surprisingly quiet and with plenty of good food. The best part is the very reasonable room rates. If you are planning to go to Salem,do yourself a big favor and book yourself here.

We have stayed there 3 times and are planning our 4th stay. We found the staff to be very friendly and helpful and the rooms were clean. It was a nice quiet area with a few restaraunts close by. Only a 15 minute walking distance to town. We felt very safe walking to and from town as well as feeling safe on the grounds.

Friendly hospitable staff .Recieved Dunkin Donuts gift cards at check-in. Room was clean and spacious. Good location with nearby restaraunts, and just a 15 minute walk to Salem attractions
or train station. If you don't want to walk, taxis' are very reasonable for just 5 or 6 dollars. Quiet and comfortable at night after a long day being a tourist.
