“Comfortable & Convenient for walking in Salem”

We stayed in Salem in January (the off season) but were there mainly for seeing the town and sight seeing. This hotel is very conviently located. You can park your car there and walk everywhere. It is located right by the National Park Service Historic Park. We also enjoyed the Peabody Essex Museum and a walking tour of the historic homes in Salem. We enjoyed Salem so much that we decided to stay two nights instead of just one. The hotel was very clean and comfortable and the staff was very friendly. As we stayed in the off season, we got a good rate--I thought they could have lowered the rate a bit more as the hotel had only a handful of guests but I can't complain about our rate. Also, hotels that are comparable to this often offer a free breakfast but this hotel did not. I would stay here again.

This is a lovely nonsmoking hotel located close to everything. You can walk a few steps and for $10 you can ride the trolley all day and see all the sites, with easy on and off stops. You WILL see ALL of Salem if you do this. We stayed in the King Suite with wet bar. It was lovely. Only thing was that there were no doors on the closet in our bedroom...I found that odd. Also, as we were travelling with our teenage daughter, she got the pull out bed in the front room. The door to our bedroom was mostly all glass with NO curtain, so naturally, we had no privacy. I also found this a tad odd.Great location, close to the old town, attractions and some super restaurants. Going with Kids...try Red's Sandwich Shop on Central...you can feed the whole gang for $20. Best mediums in town can we found almost next door (Angelica of the Angels) Cute shop, a lot of fun. I also recommend Victoria Station on Pickering Wharf...the food is great, prices reasonable and a stones throw away from the hotel. Like beer, try the Salem Beer Works also close to the hotel. Also see the Peabody Essex Museum...small but interesting and worth the visit. Salem in an enchanting town with much to offer any visitor interested in history. I've stayed at the Salem Inn as well, and I much prefer this hotel.
Take it from someone who knows! You'll love this hotel.

“A Nice Place to Stay in Salem, MA”

A nice hotel with everything you need for a few nights in Salem. Nothing too fancy but clean rooms & convenient location. The pub was a nice place to get a drink, the food was decent. When I stayed at the hotel I was a first time visitor to Salem. The staff was able to recommend good restaurants and attractions, even point us towards those less touristy ones. Good experience, all in all, I would recommend it.

“Really comfortable”

Salem Waterfront Hotel & Suites

We had intended to stay longer here in Salem but Fly Globespan cancelled our flights twice so we were limited to just one night. This turned out to be an ideal choice after a long flight - Salem's not far from Logan Airport and this hotel has vast bedrooms with comfortable double kings. Dinner at Finz just around the corner for good seafood, and breakfast at the Salem Diner is a must.

Unfortunately our second floor room had a loud background hum which we were told subsequently by the Concierge was a characteristic of the hotel's air-conditioning system. The following night we were moved to the room directly above (the only other room available) where the noise was less, though still audible.
The location was excellent - within walking distance of all of historic Salem - and the hotel's bar/restaurant was good and not very expensive.
