This is a lovely nonsmoking hotel located close to everything. You can walk a few steps and for $10 you can ride the trolley all day and see all the sites, with easy on and off stops. You WILL see ALL of Salem if you do this. We stayed in the King Suite with wet bar. It was lovely. Only thing was that there were no doors on the closet in our bedroom...I found that odd. Also, as we were travelling with our teenage daughter, she got the pull out bed in the front room. The door to our bedroom was mostly all glass with NO curtain, so naturally, we had no privacy. I also found this a tad odd.Great location, close to the old town, attractions and some super restaurants. Going with Kids...try Red's Sandwich Shop on Central...you can feed the whole gang for $20. Best mediums in town can we found almost next door (Angelica of the Angels) Cute shop, a lot of fun. I also recommend Victoria Station on Pickering Wharf...the food is great, prices reasonable and a stones throw away from the hotel. Like beer, try the Salem Beer Works also close to the hotel. Also see the Peabody Essex Museum...small but interesting and worth the visit. Salem in an enchanting town with much to offer any visitor interested in history. I've stayed at the Salem Inn as well, and I much prefer this hotel.
