“Worth the cost”

Entertaining, very fun. Did it both times I was in Salem and loved it. Might be dull for little children.

“Entertaining and educating!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 28, 2013

This was a great performance! They started in the middle of the busy street and accused Bridget Bishop of being a witch. They encouraged the crowd around them to join in on the accusations and led the "angry mob" back to the court house to hold a trial for the accused. The actors explained a bit about their performance before they began, about playing different roles and such. Then they actually held a trial, calling different actors forth to testify against the "witch" and would then ask for any questions from the audience. They gave historical facts and really showed how a trial would have been held in the 1600's during the witch trials. At the end they took a vote from the audience on whether or not they found the "witch" in question guilty or not guilty. After that they told you the true outcome of the trial since this trial had actually taken place in 1692 and some more historical facts about the trials. I would really recommend seeing this!

“Cry Innocent is Innocent Fun”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 24, 2013

Overall, Cry Innocent is a very good show. The costumes are authentic, the acting is great, and the dialogue and details are realistic and add to the experience. The show starts outside with one of the characters being accused of witchcraft and being put on trial. A short time later, it goes into the building and one of the actors explains what's going to happen. Pictures are allowed and all of the seats for the audience allow you to see well no matter where you are sitting. As for the show, it can get a little confusing because the actors are fast paced and all but one of them plays multiple characters during the show. But, it is well done and the actors know what they're doing and enjoy it. The audience is also allowed to participate by asking questions of the characters after their testimonies and then it is up to audience vote to decide whether or not the woman accused of witchcraft goes to formal trial. There is also a small museum in the same building which includes a exhibit featuring the history of Parker Brothers board games and a gift shop with a few items available.

“Make sure to go early - for street scene”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 22, 2013

This is an excellent performance - really enjoyed it. It gives a different perspective on the witch trials from other tours in Salem. My only complaint is that they should make it clear when buying the tickets that the performance starts out in the street (they drag the accused to the courthouse). We just caught the end of this part and would have liked to have seen it from the start.
