“Soup, Sandwiches & People Watching”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 3, 2013

Stopped in for lunch. Would do it again.
Pros: Clean, friendly and attentive wait staff, good food selection (it is not gourmet but it is really good), they don't make you wait for the bill (a big plus in my book). We tried two different soups both of which were very tasty. Roll-up sandwiches are stuffed full (and not just vegetables); the fish pieces were fresh, sweet and oh-so-good. Cole slaw serving is tiny, fries are plentiful. PRICES ARE REASONABLE for the tourist area.
Cons: Not handicap accessible. Single restroom is located down a narrow flight of stairs and you had better duck or you will be concussed.

“Nice lunch place!”

We found the Fountain Place Restaurant by accident among the construction in Salem. Great lunch at a reasonable price and of excellent quality!

“Our Favorite Breakfast Place in Salem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 12, 2013

We are regulars here -- we share the yummy Eggs Florentine (real spinach sauted with onions and home-made hollandaise sauce) and the apple cinnamon french toast. The kids love the chocolate chip pancakes served with a whipped cream smilely face. Keta and Nicole are just great and go out of their way to make sure all is well.

Oh and the location is great .. corner of Washington and Essex. Sit by the window and watch the world go by.

“Sublime French Toast”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 5, 2013

This was a bright and cheerful place when first walking into this clean and sparse cafe. We were greeted by a friendly proprietor who instructed us to sit anywhere we liked. We chose a window table near the corner that enabled us to see the stret and the walking mall. Our coffee was hot and fresh and refilled frequently; we like our coffee. The eggs benedict was cooked perfectly, and the sauce was homemade. The piece de resistance was the french toast we shared. This is a family recipe that is twice baked. The banana french toast had a slightly carmelized taste that was sublime even before syrup. Please remember to visit the ATM before you go, because this is a cash place only.

“Truly excellent!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2013

I had the amazing Peanut Butter Pancakes for Sunday brunch and I don't know why I've never seen that recipe before. 3 large fluffy pancakes full of peanut butter chipits :D SIMPLY DELICIOUS! The syrup was good, but they should offer real maple syrup at a charge. Coffee was good, service was fast and courteous.

Have breakfast there when you visit Salem :D
