We drove through the rainy streets of Salem, MA as the darkness quickly fell upon us. The road was weaving and bobbing, and we were happy to find our destination at last. And what a pleasant surprise it was. A fabulous inn in Historic Downtown Salem, was a sight to behold. Put together piece by piece, detail by detail, to recreate the amazing feeling of being in a 17th century mansion, with all amenities of the modern world, Morning Glory Bed & Breakfast welcomed us.
Featuring a four post bed, real fireplace and spacious closets, the rooms welcomed us with a bowl of Dove's kisses. Beautiful post-war prints, paintings, ragged dolls and other props celebrating femininity, created the character of the ficticious inhabitant of this room, increasing the feeling of being in someone else's house.
The rooms are keenly named after the first victims of the infamous Salem witch hunt of 1692. We had the pleasure of residing at Rebecca Nurse's quarters.
We loved staying at the Morning Glory Bed & Breakfast, and would recommend it to any traveler with impeccable tastes and demands.
