Marcel and Bob are awesome! Their attention for detail and design are incomparable. This bed and breakfast made our honeymoon get a way complete and very romantic. And the best part is that it was very reasonably priced (affordable!!!)and clean. Its location is perfect! It’s literally under a mile a way from most places any tourist will want to go.

We drove through the rainy streets of Salem, MA as the darkness quickly fell upon us. The road was weaving and bobbing, and we were happy to find our destination at last. And what a pleasant surprise it was. A fabulous inn in Historic Downtown Salem, was a sight to behold. Put together piece by piece, detail by detail, to recreate the amazing feeling of being in a 17th century mansion, with all amenities of the modern world, Morning Glory Bed & Breakfast welcomed us.

Featuring a four post bed, real fireplace and spacious closets, the rooms welcomed us with a bowl of Dove's kisses. Beautiful post-war prints, paintings, ragged dolls and other props celebrating femininity, created the character of the ficticious inhabitant of this room, increasing the feeling of being in someone else's house.

The rooms are keenly named after the first victims of the infamous Salem witch hunt of 1692. We had the pleasure of residing at Rebecca Nurse's quarters.

We loved staying at the Morning Glory Bed & Breakfast, and would recommend it to any traveler with impeccable tastes and demands.

Feb 24, 2008 | Trip type: Friends getaway

I just visited the Morning Glory Bed and Breakfast for a Girl's Getaway Weekend and was very pleased with our stay at the Morning Glory Bed and Breakfast. The entire house is immaculate and very welcoming - it could not have been more perfect for us!
We were greeted by our hosts, Bob and Marcel, who were very friendly and quite knowledgeable about Salem. They made several recommendations for our day trip that were very helpful.
The Rebecca Nurse room was quite charming and delightfully decorated. I felt very at home there and my friends and I enjoyed the extra bonus of the fireplace in the room while we kicked back and enjoyed a glass of wine.
We really found the Morning Glory to be a perfect spot for us - it was located right across from the House of Seven Gables and right down the street from several shops and restaurants.
Do yourself a favor and stay at the Morning Glory B&B next time you are in Salem !

Looking for a Girls' Weekend Away, my friends and I had a lovely time at the Morning Glory B&B. We each came from different cities as diverse as New York City, Buffalo, and Boston, and each of us enjoyed our experience immensely. Bob and Marcel were incredibly warm and welcoming. The B&B was immaculately clean. The rooms were inviting, comfortable, and tastefully decorated, and the house, itself, was situated with cozy little nooks and sitting rooms where we could enjoy a glass of wine after a cold night spent walking the Salem streets. We all felt incredibly relaxed at the Morning Glory. Speaking personally, I have stayed at MANY, MANY B&Bs in the U.S. and abroad, and the Morning Glory ranks as one of the best. Simple elegance in a warm, inviting home where we felt more like friends as opposed to mere visitors. It's location in Salem is also perfect. Highly recommend.

Many thanks to Bob Shea for a wonderful stay over the July 4th holiday last year (I'm a little late with my review!). We felt right at home immediately at The Morning Glory. This B&B really had everything we were looking for - great location, charm, comfort, all for a great price. A stone's throw from the House of Seven Gables and a VERY short walk to catch the ferry over to Boston, we couldn't have asked for more. We especially loved the delicious breakfast complete with homebaked goods and met many lovely people. Our only regret is that we couldn't have stayed longer! Thanks again Bob!
