“Nice concept, okay food”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 19, 2013 via mobile

My boyfriend and I tried Scratch Kitchen on recommendation from a co-worker. It was okay. Maybe we ordered the wrong items? We each ordered one of the flavored sodas- the ginger ale with real ginger was great! They brought out house made chips with our drinks, those were pretty good! We also ordered the "Cuban" pork panini, I thought it was skimpy on the pork. At the recommendation of our waitress we ordered a small onion ring and small French fries (with bacon dusting). The portions of these were large. The onion rings were great! I really didn't taste much bacon flavor on the fries. The homemade ketchup was pretty gross, really sweet! The service was okay. It is a great concept of home made and local items but, the food was just okay.

“Great fresh food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 15, 2013

Great little place. Service was great and waiter answered all questions we had about the menu perfectly. The food tasted fresh and homemade -- even the onion rings (fantastic!) were fresh and much healthier than other restaurants. Pulled pork sandwich was to die for! Delicious. You can tell they put the time and effort into their dishes. Would recommend!

“Great sandwiches!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 28, 2013

Place is really cozy and the food was amazing! Everything was super fresh and delicious! I had a special, and my sister had a regular menu item. Everything we had was great. Plus, it is reasonably priced. The waiters and waitresses were helpful as well, will definitely go back!

“HIDDEN GEM”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 25, 2013

Ok, you can ignore all the other reviews and pay attention to this: this place is a true hidden gem. Food is made from scratch, hence the name, and I mean ALL THE FOOD. They make their own bacon, they cure their own ham, they make their own sauces. Even the decadent desserts are homemade. Let's start with the chips: they make their own potato chips which is what they serve instead of bread when you sit down. Fries? They are dusted with bacon. Incredible. We had the chicken tip sandwich and the ham sandwich. The ham is home cured. Even the pickles are home made. This is not an elegant restaurant, but the food is equal or better than any restaurant in the area. Most amazing is the dessert: Homemade brownie with homemade caramel sauce. If you know what beurre sale caramel from France is, that is what it tastes like. The waitress, who described herself as "the old waitress" is a riot. Service is great for a little place. Price for 2 sandwiches made with home cured ham, 2 glasses of lemonade, 1 huge order of bacon dusted fries, homemade potato chips, homemade pickles and the amazing dessert? $30.00 with tax included. Do not miss this place.

“Meh”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 25, 2013

We had lunch here. Service was slow and the food was only "ok". The homemade potato chips were pretty good but the sandwiches were nothing special.
