I visited Salem on Halloween and went to the Salem Witch Museum, thinking it was one of the must-see attractions. To say I was thoroughly disappointed is an understatement. It is not a real museum in that it does not have anything historical from the time period. It is divided into 2 parts, the first is a short overview of what happened in the Salem Witch trials (which was much better described in the $5 documentary at the visitor center, which itself was poorly done), and the second part is a mention of how the term "witch" has been used throughout time. That's it. No documents from the time, no original analysis, no nothing. In-between the 2 parts is a 10 minute break during which you are forced into the gift shop and cannot leave until the 2nd part, which is a way to get ppl to spend more money. There is no water fountain by the bathroom but they conveniently sell bottled water.
Don't waste your money here. The place is just capitalizing on its location to make money from unsuspecting tourists.
