“Renovations are nice!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 17, 2013

I had been to this resort a few times some years back and it was nice then. This time, the resort looks great!!!
The pools are a bit different and my 7 yr old loved the slide!!! Nice touch! Also, we used the Westin Kids Club there and that was ok. They accept infants on up. I don't recommend it for older kids like 8+ because they might get bored. It's a couple of rooms with toys, movies and games. The staff are very nice there, though. If you have small children, this is definitely a nice option!
Because our room was "unavailable," we were upgraded to a parlor suite room. OMG this suite is big. We were guessing it is 1000+ sq ft. It had a queen sleeper sofa, a queen murphy bed and of course a king. I imagine it is super pricey in peak season.
The resort was full when we were there on the weekend, but the staff seemed to handle it beautifully. They are as enthusiastic about the remodel as the guests. My only complaint was that our big, beautiful suite was quite a walk from the pools, however, you can always call the front desk to take a golf cart to the pool....

Room Tip: Ask for a room near the pool.

Each year we hold a large luncheon at the Westin. Banquet manager, Peter M. and all his staff are amazing. We are treated like royalty on each and every encounter. Requests to change things, even at the last minute, are graciously handled. The food is wonderful. We are also pleased with the event planning staff and the wonderful and hard-working valets who cheerfully haul auction items and other supplies for us back and forth.

We just spent 4 nights at La Paloma, in Tucson, while in town for a wedding. WOW! First the most impressive note. I lost my gold necklace in one of the pools, probably while enjoying the water slide! I checked with lost n found, and then again when we checked out, and they didn't have it but said they'd have the staff looking for it. Rob Malone called me, a couple hours later, to say another of the staff, Robert Auman had found it in a pool, and turned it in! I can't say how impressed I am with the integrity of the staff! The resort is beautiful! The beds and bedding were new and very comfortable. The bathrooms are awesome and kept like new! The housekeeping staff does great! The food at Azul, is delicious! The swim up bar, at the adult pool, was great!
We can't wait to get back there for another vacation! THANKS for a Great Vacation!

Room Tip: We visited with friends in many rooms, and each was quiet and impressive! There are rooms overlookin...

The views from some places at this resort are pretty, but we were facing a golf course and residential backyards. We stayed in a "newly renovated" room but it smelled very heavily of deodorizer. Long walk to the rooms from the parking lot, very little shade available in the pool area which was very crowded (we have a toddler so this was a bit annoying). Nothing terrible, but nothing extravagant either.

Husband and brother and his family first time stay was great! La Paloma was our base of operations for entertainment (reading, backgammon) and conversation (ages 2 to 62...for 5 days). The water slide was fun and the number and variety of types pools from plunge to lap, to waterfall, were heaven in the heat! We requested and were happy with our upper floor room near the pool...Room was clean and we slept well! Service good! Food expensive in the main restaurant so breakfasted at Starbucks, lunched at golf tennis deli and ate dinners off property with the locals.

Room Tip: ask for an upper floor ...if mobility an issue ask for a room near lobby or main pool

We are local Tucson residents and spent two nights on a stay cation at the Westin. The newly romodeled resort is absolutely beautiful. The rooms are large as are the bathrooms. They have two sinks and the rainfall showers are exquisite. There are about 5 pools in the pool area as well as as a separate pool for adults. There is a large water slide which we didn't use but looked very fun. The swim up bar/restaurant was wonderful and really came in handy. Our only complaint was that people left their plastic cups all around the pool and today took on the look of a Spring break party with empty cans and plastic cups all around. People could and should have picked up after themselves but we also feel Westin employees could have been more attentive to the mess but came around very seldom to clean up. For that reason alone we gave the restaurant a four star rating rather than five. Other than that we loved the resort and will be going back a few more weekends this summer. I only hope their management staff read this to correct the pool mess.

Room Tip: Ask for an upper floor room with a city view.

Just wanted to give a positive shout out to our server Francisco in the Azul restaurant who waited on us several times over the course of our stay - we were there with a large group so keeping track of and accommodating seatings, checks, personalities, etc was on ongoing challenge each time we sat down and Francisco never failed to graciously deliver nor stop smiling no matter what was thrown at him over the course of the weekend... In fact all of the staff we encountered including but not limited to front desk, housekeeping, banquets, bartenders, pool, and even security were in good humor and ready to deliver their best but Francisco stood out among them all...
