“Potential, but...”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed April 10, 2008

So to start off with positives, I think this is a really great property. Good pool area. The bar next to the pool has plastic glasses so you take your drink out to the pool. And sometimes you might see a waiter walking around the pool, taking orders. But not often. They have a speaker system that plays music throughout the courtyard (which stretches on forever, BTW. The rooms are very spacious, all suites. Fridge Microwave are included in all rooms. They also have Sleep Number beds in certain rooms.

But there where several negatives also. I woke up the first morning and opened up the closet to do my ironing to find no iron. I called the front desk and asked for one. Waited around for 30mins but then had to throw on wrinkled cloths and run out the door to get to work. I did have an iron when returned that night. I thought it might have been an isolated thing but co-worker also didn't have an iron in her room. It seems to me that should be one of those standard things you have your housecleaning staff check for. I came in another day to find a dirty rag lying right in front of the door. On the weekend we went to the pool to find no towels. We went inside and asked for some and were told that some would be brought right out. 30 minutes later we asked again and were told that they would not be bring towels out today. ?

I also want to say don't go to the restaurant. I'm not sure if the restaurant is tied to the hotel, but if it was I would be giving the collective a 1 out of 5. Service at the restaurant is terrible. Every time we went we spent at least 2 hours just waiting around. You see your waiter once to take your order and then an hour later your get your food. If you really don't want to leave the hotel, I suggest you eat at the bar. This is the only spot where you get good service.

Anyway I think it has the possibility of being a good hotel, but they’ve got to step up the service.

Old apartment style rooms, popcorn ceilings, music playing thru-out the grounds was nice except the sound insulation of the room was zero! We heard the music nonstop as well as everything our neighbors were doing, I mean everything! We waded through large puddles of water in traffic areas surrounding the hotel with our luggage, no staff addressing the problem. Extremely overpriced! We have stayed at Radissons the world over and never been subjected to such a terrible experience!

I have been staying at the Radisson Suites Tucson for the last three years for business. The staff is very friendly, and always looking to make my stay the best possible. The facilities are very clean and comfortable.

The rooms are spacious, and the sleep number king bed is comfy. The rooms are super quiet and super dark, so you can really sleep well. The bathroom is very big, with two sinks, one inside and one directly outside. My only complaint is that the breakfast buffet is pretty mediocre to bad. The location is good, and the pool is very nice. Overall, it's one of the better hotels I have stayed out.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 31, 2007

We've been to Tucson every year for 10 years and usually stayed with family but this is the first time we've stayed at a hotel. I spent hours reading every review on TripAdvisor and other sites to locate a decent hotel at a reasonable price. We finally settled on the Radisson based on reviews and a picture of the pool. The hotel is in a good location and nearby lots of stores and restaurants. The suites at the Radisson with a separate bedroom and TV are great for families. We really liked having the sofabed and the separate bedroom. According to my son, the sofabed was not comfortable, but he was okay with it because he had his own tv. The sleep number bed is really uncomfortable. I fiddled with the setting everyday, but could never get it right. The bedding though is clean and you get lots of pillows. The bathroom is a good size with a separate tub and shower. There is also a sink outside the main bathroom which was convenient. We asked for and got a room on the top floor with a great view of the mountains. The rooms are clean, but upon closer inspection, the coffee mugs had dried coffee and both rolls of toilet paper were on their last legs. We expected the housekeepers to see and replace this, but they never did. We ran out of toilet paper and had to ask for more. Needless to say, housekeeping is not the best. You enter the complex from the parking lot around the perimeter as noted by other reviewers. Often the outside doors were propped open, so it's not that secure, but one night we did see a patroling security guard. Our room was on the far end away from the pool so it was very quiet. The pool is big and clean. Since it was August, we often had the pool to ourselves. The hot buffet breakfast was great. We had it included in the price of the room. The rooms also have microwaves and a small empty refrigerator which came in handy for us. We stayed a total of 6 nights and we will certainly stay there again next year.

  • Liked — The room features with the separate bedroom, large bathroom, refrigerator & microwave.
  • Disliked — Housekeeping could be better.

This is an excellent place. My wife and I stayed here in June when we wanted a weekend away from the kids. The pool is great, they will bring drinks and snack bar type food to your chair. Nice rooms, suite style with seperated bedroom/living room. i didn't like the sleep number bed but I giess a lot of people or they wouldn't have them. Other than that it was great.
