“Excellent Location for the University of Arizona”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 11, 2013

Well, you can't get much closer to the University of Arizona than this hotel. Unless, of course, you're in one of the dorms.

This is an older hotel, and it's similar to the Marriott in Fresno and Desert Springs in its design. It's rooms are all on the perimeter and has a large courtyard in the middle, so if you look up, you can see everyone walking in the halls. There are lots of plants and a huge skylight making it a very light and bright hotel. The only downside, and the reason that I gave it 4 stars instead of 5, is the noise in the hotel funnels up and you can hear it in your room. The restaurant was great, and the price for breakfast was not very expensive, like most hotels.

Nuts and bolts: The rooms were nice, clean, tastefully decorated, and very comfortable. The bed, it's bedding and pillows were all comfortable, and didn't have that 'too firm hotel' feel.

We stayed two nights, and would stay there again. We highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area or the university.

You are walking distance to restaurants, shopping and the University of Arizona.

Room Tip: If you want a quieter room, ask for one that faces the parking garage. The other side has restauran...

I stayed at Marriott for an event at UA. The atmosphere is inviting and comfortable; the interior is open. The hotel is within walking distance from many restaurants and shops(On University Ave); it's also a few minutes from the student center at the university, which has many food court choices. Because of its open nature the noise of other floors and the lobby as well can carry to the rooms, it was a little noisy at night if others are in corridors or conference area. My biggest complaint is that internet is not free, it costs around $10 a night. There is a business center with free internet and printers, but if you want the comfort of your own room, or your personal internet then you will have to pay a hefty price for wifi. Also, parking is $12 a day, whereas a competing hotel on the other side of campus offers free wifi and free underground parking, at a cheaper nightly rate. The pool and hot tub are small, but clean and restful to use. I would consider staying here again if my child attends UA. There is construction in this area, so be prepared for early morning construction sounds on weekdays and even Saturday.

Room Tip: Rooms on higher floors might be quieter. There are only two elevators, though, so be prepared to wa...

The hotel I can't say to much about other then I would stay here again. The only real complaint I have is, on our first night, the people next door were making way to much noise. I tried to call the front desk but our phone was dead. found out later why. My bad. Parking was ok, had to park in a garage across the street. All in all the staff was very nice and helpful. No complaints there. Did not try the food there, no time. We did try out the pool area. Nice and clean. Now that I'm thinking about it, I do have 1 major complaint. this is a Marriott, a nice hotel, a good name, but,,, what's with the DOUBLE size beds. Come one now. QUEENS people, QUEENS and KINGS. next time. I'm ordering a king and the kids can sleep on the floor. It was nice to close to U Of A and University Street. lots of food joints to choose from.

Stayed there to visit my son who studies at UoA.
The hotel is right in the middle of the campus and is very comfortable. The room is roomy and light, bedding and furniture are comfortable, bathroom is spacious. Really enjoyed my week-end there and would not hesitate to go back for my next visits.

I stayed here during a one-night visit to Tucson, because I had business on the University of Arizona. If you have business on the campus, then this is a very good place to stay. The service was friendly and efficient and the room was fine, if a bit dated. I did not have time for breakfast, because I had a very early flight to catch. There are plenty of restaurants, bars, cafes and shops close by. Overall I would certainly stay here again, but there was nothing memorable about the experience.

Great location to U of A and great stay. Love this hotel and accommodations. Too bad it's too expensive for U of A parents during key dates. I would stay every time if I could get a better rate and availability. They need to discount for UofA parents who frequent during their kids four year stay.

Thank you for your recent stay and it's great to see you enjoyed our location and accommodations. Our Hotel is fortunate to be located right on campus and as you can imagine fills up very quickly during UofA events. We have many specials run throughout the year on Marriott.com, but those as you mentioned are usually limited on dates were we are full. Visiting during non-peak UofA times, our prices will be more to your liking.

We hope to welcome you back soon. Go Cats!

The hotel is adjacent to the University and in an area with plenty of restaurants and pubs. The facility is nice and appeared to be well kept…I am quite familiar with Marriott, and wasn’t surprised one way or the other—this a solid, comfortable, clean property with a very friendly staff.

Room Tip: Ask for a high floor since some of the lower ones seem to have obstructed views. Not sure if all of...
