3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 19, 2011 via mobile

We rented a casita for a 4 day stay. The furniture may have been relatively new, the rooms were in serious need of repair.
Just outside our front door was a bush that very many bees occupied.
Receiving service was next to impossible at our room, poolside, and in the lobby.
My guess is during the peak travel season you'd want to be at the top of your game, with many other places to choose from, I'd skip this one.
We are frequent travelers to Tucson - this was our first & last stay at this establishment.

Its come a long way baby....but not in a good way. The resort needs a makeover bad. I know the economy is though and hopefully they can do something soon to bring the glory back to the ECR.

This is overall a great place to stay in the Oro Valley area of Tucson. The resort has a great southwest style with beautiful mountains drapped in the background. When checking in found the lobby to be very nice and the customer service excellent. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. They even called my room after check-in to make sure I was happy with everything. The room overall was very nice and comfortable. The only two criticism was that it needed to be aired out for a while because it had a strong cleanser sent. I also ran out of hot water which was partially my wife's fault due to her endless bath!

Stayed near the end of a road trip around az and this was a welcome retreat. The hotel was set against the backdrop of some beautiful mountains and was just stunning! The pools are great and so relaxing to just chill out for a day. The majority of the staff were great, check in was a bit ott and the amount of messages we got to move cars from a carpark that was being tarmaced was just unbelievable, we'd already been informed at check in. Ate at the restaurant the first night and it was lovely and steak cooked to perfection. Definately the best two nights stay we had whilst in America.

My husband and I just stayed at this luxury resort while purchasing a second home in Tucson. We arrived before check in time but were quickly given a beautiful mountain view room with a balcony overlooking the mountains. The pool and hot tub were wonderful and a great temperature with sparkling water. We took advantage of the on property well equipped gym as well the off property fitness center. The complimentary off property center had a variety of fitness and yoga classes. We attended two yoga classes presented by Bridget and they were just our bodies needed after busy days dealing on our home purchase.

We are Gold Hilton Honors member so our rate included complimentary breakfast. We sat out on the Sundance patio and enjoyed delicious food and a lovely mountain view. We ate two meals and the food was excellent. The food was beautifully presented and very delicious.
I highly recommend this property, it is all first rate.

Thank you for sharing your experience at our resort. We pride ourselves in our guest service and we have the absolute best views in town! Congratulations on your second home and we look forward to hosting you again. Since you will be spending some time here, we have daily happy hour in the lobby and our golf and fitness programs are phenomenal. We will be doing more yoga and actually we will have it at the resort by our Acacia Experience pool area which is a perfect setting for yoga. Check back with us for details or visit our website. Thanks again for sharing your experience and we are delighted that you had such a great time.

This hotel was part of a 14 day road trip around California, Arizona and Nevada, chosen specifically for 2 days of rest and relaxation amongst an otherwise jam packed trip. It has the standards and presence you expect from a Hilton resort with stunning surroundings, great views - a truly idyllic location. The staff, as always, were friendly, happy to help; special note to Mary in the lobby bar whose warm, welcoming and friendly nature was the best we have experienced in a long time. Unfortunately, our days of relaxation were somewhat spoilt by the constant sound of jet washes and generators as they carried out pool-side maintenance. Whilst we appreciate this needs to be done at some point, in the middle of the day whilst guests are trying to relax, I’m sure isn’t the best time! No signs warning this was taking place were anywhere around the resort or highlighted to us at check in. A shame, as otherwise this was everything we would have wished for and we would still not hesitate in recommending this resort.

Room Tip: Check out the resort website direct as we got much better prices than our travel agent could get!

Thank you for sharing your experience about our resort. We take these comments very seriously. Our location is truly ideal as we consider ourselves the best view in town. In regards to the pool area, we are sorry about the inconvenience. We do that pool maintenance once a year and we have tried it during several different times. We have found that mid-day is the best because otherwise you do it too early, or too late. We do have signs in our lobby about renovations, but we will make sure to address this in a more prominent manner next time. I will also send a note to our director of operations so that he is made aware so that this is communicated more thoroughly next time. We hope that you can visit us again to show you what it would be without the once-a-year maintenance and thank you for your feedback.

Stayed in the property for a week this past spring for a conference. Here are some details I remembered:

Rooms: Nothing spectacular, but clean and very nice. Pretty standard hotel room. We had a pool-view room, but I'm sure a mountain view room would be nice as well.

Pool: The pool area is large, there is a small waterslide, hot tub, and kid pool. Problem is that the pool isn't large enough for the hotel--it got really crowded every day, which is always annoying. The pool bar and staff seemed to get quite overwhelmed, as it took quite a while to get drinks/food if you waited for a waitress. The pool food was good, but very basic.

Restaurants: very good food, but there are many excellent restaurants around as well.

Golf: There is a decent course right on the property, but it's nothing spectacular. The two main courses are off site. They weren't that expensive, and were a touch over-played. I don't love desert courses, but if they're something you enjoy, these are nice courses.

Location: the hotel itself is a decent drive from the airport/downtown Tuscon, so if you want something near town, this isn't your place. It's right at the base of some mountains, and is a very beautiful setting. There are nice restaurants near the hotel as well as a nice shopping mall.

Random: would definitely recommend visiting the Saguaro National Park, it's gorgeous. Also, for a great Mexican restaurant, go to Mi Nidito, south of downtown. We had pretty bad weather while we were there, which normally wouldn't be an issue, just bad luck for us.

Thank you for sharing your experience about our resort. We take these comments very seriously. The next time that you are here you should consider going to our other pool, which is by our casita suites. It is a new area known as "The Acacia Experience." It is more of an age-exclusive area which offers a more private and a relaxing environment. We will also be offering an Acacia Menu exclusive to that area. Our golf courses were recently re-seeded and you were probably here as we were finishing up. All three courses are now in tip-top shape and we encourage you to come visit us again and let us know what you think.
Thanks again for your feedback and we hope to see you again soon.
