“Luxurious”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 21, 2013

We love the beauty of the Sonoran desert and have been regular guests at Loews Ventana Canyon every year for over 15 years. the combination of the weather and the hotel are wonderfully relaxing. The lobbies are luxurious, the rooms spacious and contemporary. The grounds and pool areas are immaculate. Most importantly the staff in the hotel and the Flying V is sincerely welcoming, friendly and cordial. We have particular praise for the concierge, Victoria, and Rock, the manager of the Flying V. When we end one vacation, we immediately book our next one there.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the mountain side have particularly beautiful views. You see the Sonoran desert at...

Interior has been upgraded with nice furnishings and carpeting. Staff was very friendly. Ate dinner in bar one night. Food was very good. Warning: tip is included in bill. We didn't realize, so way over tipped the server. The small "kitchen": small refrigerator, microwave, sink, dishes and utensils made it easy to eat breakfast and lunch in the room. The interior rooms above the public spaces are noisy. I had to use ear plugs. Great pool for lap swimmers.

Room Tip: Rooms with exterior entrances or those away from public spaces are much quieter.

I try to stay here whenever I am in Tucson. It's convenient to most of my business, the drive to the resort if scenic and once you arrive you can forget the day's worries. That's why I love it. Consider becoming a Loews Member...the perks from this location make it so worthwhile. A great spa, great restaurants, and the best staff yet. I'm spoiled since they know me by name, but it had been 90 days since my last visit over July 4th. Wintertime I can't stay but the summer rates are perfect.

Room Tip: Best breakfast at the Canyon Cafe...they will get you anything you want.

This is a wonderful hotel - extremely comfortable, great rooms, great landscape, etc. However they have some very strange pricing policies for such an upscale property. Charging for WiFi - most upscale hotels no longer charge; Parking overnight charges - huge hotel for parking, why do this? $100/day deductable for incidentals which they will credit back, but can't guarantee when. Seriously? Why not charge if you use? Just strange for such a beautiful upscale property to nickel and dime. Most resorts of this type no longer do this. Shame because the resort is REALLY wonderful, just irritating pricing policies. I took my parents here for a relaxing weekend and they loved it - would have given it 5 stars if it hadn't been for the nickel and diming.

Room Tip: If you have a car, get a room in the 4000 so you can park and walk to your room more conveniently...

This was our third stay at Ventana Canyon. We were upgraded to a suite because they were sold out...what a beautiful room! Great bar area, awesome bed and pillows. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The resort is so gorgeous, very well cared for...we love it there and will certainly go back again and again!

Room Tip: We were lucky and were upgraded to a suite...I would pick it again, if possible! Great patio, room...

My husband had a conference here over the holiday weekend so Bisbee, our golden retriever and I got to come for a night's stay. "Loews Loves Pets" is absolutely true! Bisbee got his own placemat, bowls, doggie treats and pickup bags. There's even dog and kitty food (pricey) on the Room Service menu!
Ken and I loved walking the along the golf course on the Par Course path with Bisbee and taking the little trail to a waterfall behind the hotel. The resort is very respectful of the desert environment and we appreciated the naturalness of the landscaping -- living here we understand the beauty of so many varieties of cactus.
The room was wonderful. Our own patio, a double size bathtub, and super comfy robes. Every staff person we met was friendly and helpful. I didn't get to try out the spa, but I could see coming back during the summer for a " staycation" in my wonderful home town.

Room Tip: Rooms on the North side have a great mountain view. On the southern sides, the views of the Tucson...

We arrived at a very busy time and had to wait for our room which was reserved for over six months. Wes at the front desk was very nice and he worked very hard under the conditions - With only the manager on duty with him, Wes was answering phones, taking care of customers and trying to get housekeepng on the phone to get the rooms available. We arrived at 4pm and was in our room by 6 pm. Luckily, Wes was able to get us a good room with the view of the city at night whichis wonderful. We never closed our curtains because the view is excelent day and night. We had the spa option and enjoyed the sauna and showers and I had a facial that unexpectedly included hand and foot massage. It was a wonderful time. Thanks to all the maids and Wes and car valets, we will remember a great set of people who work here.

Room Tip: A room facing the city has very nice views
