“could be better”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed June 19, 2007

we stayed one night before our flight home to the uk. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The courtesy bus driver even waited for us whilst we returned the hire car and took us back to the hotel which we thought was beyond his call of duty. The food in the restaurant was not too bad but the surroundings were more like a transport cafe than a hotel restaurant. The worst part of the hotel was our room. The carpet looked as if it needed a good clean and ther were dead flies behind the curtain which looked as if they had been there for a long time. I am sur ewer ewere bitten by something in the bed and I was itching all night.

HITucsonAirport, Revenue Manager at Holiday Inn and Suites Tucson Airport North, responded to this review, July 13, 2007
I am writing this note in response to the latest comments submitted about the (now) Holiday Inn Tucson Airport - North.
With gas prices rising to unthinkable levels and Airline companies struggling to keep their heads above water, it is understandable that in some cases, when one finally reaches their destination, they are looking for some humanity to it all - a safe place to call home when they are away from home. Sometimes, a hotel can take the brunt of this frustration from a weary traveler. We try and take these factors into consideration and listen to what people have to say. It is our pride and superior guest serivice that enables us to be a top performing Hotel in Tucson Arizona. It is the guest and their comfort and satisfaction that is always at the forefront of our daily agenda.
We can honestly validate some of the issues described in these comments as the hotel at that time was under repair. (elevator issues). Although, other comments seem to be aimed at damaging this hotel rather than an honest constructive review. Some of the more damaging comments have been researched and found to be fictitious and never reported at the property level or corporate.
We would like to assure those whose honest comments were posted that we have listened to what you have to say and included your comments in planning our multi-million dollar "Re-beautification" project which has already begun with the most extensive portion of the remodel to the rooms beginning August 1, 2007.

The lobby and pool area of this hotel are nice, but the rooms are junky, dark and dismal and the breakfast buffet is limited. Plus, there is only one guest Internet computer for the entire hotel! I would not stay at this hotel again.

I have stayed at this Hotel 3 times and for the price its great.
We paid 50 per night from Hot wire and compared to the days inn there is no comparison. Yes one of the elevators was o/c
but one worked and so did the stairs. Our room was clean and not in terrible disrepair as others have quoted. I will stay here again Great location, price and staff were very friendly, nice pool to cool off in .

This hotel is absolutely disgusting. The only way to salvage it would be to tear it down. The elevators were broken so the front desk agent put us on the 4th floor with 2 bags each. The stairwell smelled like urine and was filthy and scary and dark. The carpets in the hallways and the rooms were filthy. The beds were hard, old and cheap. I would have rather slept at the airport. I used 15,000 Priority Club points and am fighting to get them back.

Hotel was ok. Our family just stayed one night prior to flying out early the next morning. The pool area was nice, spacious, lots of sun even later in the afternoon. Pool was heated but still a little chilly. Hot tub was nice but a little chipped/run down. Stayed in 3rd floor of tower. One of 2 elevators broken. Rooms were a little larger than others in this price range. No major complaints about room other than tub drained very slowly. Actually, our worst complaint was proximity to train tracks - not sure where they were but we did hear many train whistles while sleeping. Booked it from Hotwire for <$100 so probably worth the $ at this time of year (Feb), but glad we didnt pay much more.

  • Liked — Proximity to airport, pool
  • Disliked — Train whistles at night

This hotel is OK. Really fast check-in/check-out. It has internet access, which I consider a neccessity. The breakfast was included with Holiday Inn Priority Club- It was OK, but not great. Scrambled eggs, (kind of wet-- I hate runny scrambled eggs). bacon/sausage, hashbrowns, cereal, oatmeal, pastries. The waitresses were very attentive.
The room was OK. Bathroom shower tiles had a few places with mildew.
Nothing special-- I'll probably try another hotel next time.

"save mother earth".... for the more then 200 dollars per night we paid , (for a smaller room, no mini fridge, even though we asked for one twice, when making a reservation) I think we are entiteld to clean towels, and no "guilt trip" added.

The room was filthy. The carpet was old & dirty, feels like it was never properly steamed. The bed was cheap & uncomfortable. The bed cover was so fithy, I through it off the bed, and ran to wash my hands in disgust.

Stayed for a trade show, which was a convenient location, but otherwise find no reason to ever consider this place. It is by far the worst deal I ever experienced, in years of business travelling.

Watch out!
