“Good-but over priced for the accomodations.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 24, 2013

Overall it was good. Bathroom lavatory had not been cleaned from the night before and the bedside phone was not working, therefore I was unable to get a wake-up call as requested. Staff was very attentive and friendly however. They did give me a discount for the problems I encountered.

First, I will mention that the gentleman that checked us in was extremely nice. I was very upset about a problem with the first room we were given and he was extremely professional and used the best customer service skills he was taught in training. I wish I could remember his name. Nonetheless, this hotel appears to have not been renovated since the mid-90's and has the odor and ambience to go right along with it. Pet owners: BEWARE -- you are given a room in the "pet friendly " location which is not in the main tower - it's in the "motel style" buildings that surround the back of the property and pool and looks like a Motel 6. It borders some scary-looking apartment complex. This was a disappointing Doubletree, but I've found that with the Doubletree chain it's literally "hit or miss" - I won't be staying at this one in Tucson again, that's for sure. To end on a good note: thank you to the evening front desk clerk who treated me fairly despite my "not so nice" demeanor after our 13 hour drive from San Antonio, TX. He deserves recognition for handling my (probably unjustified) rudeness.

I normally look to stay at Hilton chains as they are in my network. This Doubletree in Tucson was a big mistake for my short vacation. Reservations wrong, unhelpful staff at check in, dirty air filters/mildew smell in room, TV system that did not work. Most of all no willingness to help! Manager did call after I left a poor review however she was largely uninterested in comments.

Room Tip: Chose another hotel for the best room.

We had the best experience at Doubletree by Hilton, and we will definitely return again! All of the staff was wonderful, the cookies were an amazing surprise, and the premises were beautiful! They also were very clean, smoke-free rooms, which is important to us! There were no strange smells, and it felt very safe, professional and friendly! I give this hotel a 5-star rating!

I've just had 3 weekend working in Tucson and was booked into the Doubletree by my company for the duration.
I found the hotel clean and well appointed with friendly and helpful staff throughout, with a special thank you to the bell hops, who where able to give me ideas as to points of interest to visit and places to eat...
The only down side to my stay was the overzealous attitude of one the the night managers. Who's seemingly single mindedness regarding noise was aimed more towards people having a quiet chat rather than teenage kids screaming at the pool. At least the security men saw what was really going on and showed understanding and restraint...
Overal, I'd be very happy to stay here again..

Room Tip: If you have a chance, I'd recommend a garden room, ground floor with a patio is best but upper f...

Wonderful staff, friendly, very helpful for this road warrior. The bell staff provide great recommendations for things to do in the area. The hotel has a nice walking path around the property that includes fruit trees for a quick snack. Rooms are clean and well kept.
