“clean, roomy hotel with great breakfast”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 25, 2013

On the whole a great stay. on checkin the gal seemed quite inconvenienced by my request to change the floor she had assigned me to but all the other staff were great and the hotel is lovely, witha great breakfast.

I was there by myself and had a room in the back. It was really nice. I wasn't at all nervous about it. The rooms have really nice mini kitchens and are very impressive. It was modern, clean and a great buffet breakfast. I felt very comfortable here and would stay there again, as I have before.

Thanks for the nice review, many of our guest prefer the back side away from Oracle Road, tends to be less traffic and quieter. See you again soon. Sincerely,

If you are uncomfortable with outside rooms, do not stay here- outside lighting at night is poor, especially around the back sides of the complex. My daughter stayed in one of those and was afraid because anyone could come around the back and knock in her door- she slept with a chair propped against the door- there were no other rooms to move her to. The other reviews are right on about the noise level- I heard noise starting around 6 am from next door, behind my room and above. You can hear people walking around on the floor above. When I was in the bathroom I actually heard someone snoring in the room next to me at 3 am. The rooms are shoddy- decor is old and dated and looks very dirty- the curtains had a grimy feel to them, the carpet was worn and actually frayed a huge tripping hazard. Refrigerator is the kind you'd see in a college dorm and was not turned on- minimal plugs in the walls- there was a multiprong outlet that came out of the wall so you could plug in additional things in the living room area. Most of the light switches did not work, 2 of the lights did not turn on or off. If you are handicapped there is no access with the sidewalk cut down to avoid having to climb over the curb to get to the rooms. The room I had had a sink in the bedroom and the bathroom was outside the bedroom. TV sets are big flat screens but the one in the bedroom didn't get the same channels as the one in the living room. I too did not feel safe in the room.
Good things: the bed was very comfortable, towels were soft (surprise) and a decent size, grab bar in shower, nice breakfast buffet that comes with the room and free wi-fi, but you have to sign on every time you go back on regardless if it's been 24 hours or not. Location is ok- off Oracle and not far from 1-10- lots of restaurants near by and some shopping- the mall is just down the road. Had some kind of weird bugs in the room too- found out later from my son they are the kind that sting (they looked like termites- but weren't). cleaning of rooms was minimal- they obviously didn't clean the sink counter because my toothbrush dripped on the counter and it was still there the next day. Next time I go to Tucson, I'll look for another hotel.

Room Tip: If you can climb stairs- stay on top level- that way you don't have noise coming from above, end...

Green Features: No linen changed until you check out unless you ask for it- same for towels. I don't think it's meant to be as POC as to save time for the limited staff to clean the rooms.

Great location, Friendly and supporting stuff. Great value for the price.
We stayed for a week and felt like at home. The hotel is pet friendly, and features a good breakfast as well as happy hour drinks.
There is not much more you could expect for $42 a night. (weekly rate).
Recommended to anyone.

Room Tip: Ask for an internal room facing the pool.

The hotel was in a good location but our room was not! it was right beside a storage room on the second floor where they kept the laundry carts. The flooring outside was large tile with deep grooves, therefore, when they rolled the carts past our room (many times during the day and early evening), it was so loud and irritating. Also, most of the time there were carts parked in front of our window and employees talking to one another constantly. Also, when we went from our room to the parking lot, we had to maneuver around a lot of the carts right in front of the hotel's linen laundry on the first floor. That was the nearest place to park, so we had no choice. Also, the free breakfast area was very small and crowded with tables and chairs, even before any people were in there. There was only one employee in there and it was hard for her to keep up with everything when it was crowded. I never saw her wipe any tables. It was U of A graduation weekend, so I don't know if they were fully booked or not.

Room Tip: Don't stay near the laundry or storage rooms.

Thank you for your review and feedback. Yes, we were sold out for the graduation weekend, we are in the process of retiling our walkways which will reduce the cart/noise issues. I will speak to my staff about talking in public area early in the morning, I am sorry you were disturbed. Please call me directly for your next stay so I can make the situation right. Sincerely,

This is an older hotel and so it does need updating. You can't expect to find new and fresh items in your room. However, it's a lovely place to stay if you are wanting to spend the weekend shopping. It's conveniently located to the Tucson Mall, Foothills Mall, and the Encantada Mall. I love staying here because its not as expensive as the resorts in the area - you get to spend that money on shopping - and it's comfortable. I love their huge mature trees and lush landscaping. On our last stay here a bee came flying in - we called the front desk and in no time two men came in and took care of the bee. It's a busy place and very popular, so you need to make your reservations well ahead of time. The last time we stayed there I made the reservations on short notice and was given the very last room which had a king size bed - I needed a two bed room. But I had no choice. It wasn't their fault. You will enjoy the atmosphere - the mature lush landscaping - and the breakfast area - which is in the middle of the complex. At night you can go to this building and have drinks and sit outside. I really like that about it.

What a great place to stay, although it was North of downtown, it offered a lot for the price that was charged. Stayed in a very nice suite, had a great social hour, and fantastic full breakfast the next morning. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. We will definitely go back and stay the next time we go to Tucson. It is a older facility, but the staff more than made up for any minor problems with the room. Great restaurants are very close....
