We were fortunate to be here before it got too busy over the holidays. I am imagine that the energy level cranks up quite a bit, even in a place as intimate and charming as this, and a low occupancy enhanced the feeling of perfect privacy that the founder, Mrs. Greenway, successfully envisioned. We enjoyed the beautiful grounds, spacious room, a lovely tea-time amidst the holiday decor, and with clement weather, this was a terrifically relaxing way to prepare for the holiday buzz back home. The management has wisely chosen to maintain a timeless quality that provides an excellent antidote to the tyranny of the "new" so often encountered in fine hotels. And unfortunate circumstances led us to another discovery about the excellent location of this wonderful property, namely proximity and easy access to a first-class emergency room! It's not what you want or expect on a holiday, but it was such a comfort to be able to obtain high-quality medical services so close by. As for hotel service, a staff misunderstanding on our privacy sign was a small, annoying infringement, but these things happen, and no harm done. I would certainly love to come back some day, but until then, even with a medical pit-stop, happy memories will last for some time to come.

We have stayed at the Arizona Inn several times for business meetings. This is an inn with a real history. The Inn is large with high-level accommodations and a price to match. The staff is friendly and helpful, the beds are comfortable, and some of the rooms are spacious. Internet is available in each room (and was at no charge on our last visit). There is a restaurant that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, and there is a lounge with outdoor seating. Food is also available in the outdoor pool area. Adjacent to the pool is an exercise room. There is also a very large "reading room" in which tea, coffee and goodies are served every afternoon. A broad range of daily newspapers are available in the reading room. We found the atmosphere to be somewhat formal, particularly in the dining room. Formal, but still pleasant. All in all a nice place to stay, but be prepared for the expense.

OK, this is an old hotel, with an older crowd and I generally prefer to stay in more design places. But, the location is great, the gardens are beautiful, the rooms are large, the pool is quiet, the breakfast is excellent, there are free bikes. Everything is done for your relaxation and comfort...
We had booked for 2 nights, we finaly stayed 5!

We checked in to the Arizona Inn on 09/15/09, for a one night stay while traveling the desert southwest. This is my second stay at the hotel within a 6 month period and I still think it's fantastic! The hotel is located in a residential area of Tucson and it is quiet and unobtrusive. Check-in was fast and smooth. I asked for a specific room close to and overlooking the pool - Room 200 is my favorite! No problem!! The room is great, extremely clean, with free internet access; the large king size bed was very comfortable. We dined outdoors on the patio at night and the food was excellent, although a bit pricey. For breakfast they had the buffet next to the pool which was included in the room price of $189.00 not including tax. Overall, the hotel was quiet & beautifully landscaped with gorgeous flower gardens and orange trees. It was a real treat to walk throughout the gardens and take photos. My overall rating is again 5 stars! Treat yourself to this one.

Let me preface this by saying that I travel for work 2-3 days per week, staying at various hotels throughout the country. After doing this for over a year, my standards have become higher and higher and it takes a lot more for me to be "pleasantly surprised" by any one hotel. In fact, I usually stick with Hilton (for the points program and the VIP benefits) but decided to try the Arizona Inn because another coworker had recommended it.

All I can say is: ***wow***. This hotel is amazing. The hotel is located in what appears to be a somewhat residential neighborhood, which was nice because there was plenty of free parking and it was quiet around the hotel.

I checked in at about 9pm on a weeknight and unfortunately missed the poolside free ice cream sundaes that were running until about 10pm. Nice, unexpected perk. It took me awhile to find my room - the hotel is spread out in a resort-like fashion - but when I did, I was impressed. Furnished well, a nice view of a water fountain, huge walk-in closet, antique style bathroom and plenty of bathroom amenities. Love the pamphlet in the room that explains the history of the hotel, which includes being a furniture factory at one point. Apparently there is still a small factory attached to the hotel which provides all of the furniture used in the rooms and the dining room.

The next morning, I got up a bit early to take pictures of the "resort" because I was so impressed with the layout and the landscaping. So much color, especially in ARIZONA in AUGUST! After that, I had breakfast (complimentary, including tip!) at the hotel restaurant. The food was amazing, the atmosphere was wonderful and my waiter was very helpful.

I should note that I left the hotel at approximately 8am to attend a meeting, and informed the maid that I would be back before noon to check out. She went out of her way to pick up my room and replenish the amenities while I was gone, even though she knew I had not checked out yet. Nice surprise when I returned at noon. I thought that was a great touch.

I was sad to say goodbye (after such a brief stay, no less) and will definitely book this hotel the next time I'm in Tucson.
