There are not many hotels in the world where I would like to spend more than a few days. The Arizona Inn is one of those special places. It is physically beautiful, with flower and cactus gardens and carefully tended lawns connecting the various pink adobe buildings and casitas which make up the hotel. The public areas are relaxed and spread around the hotel--large library, formal dining room, indoor/outdoor bar and eating area, swimming cabana, table tennis, even a croquet lawn. The rooms are traditional, very comfortable and furnished with guests in mind. We had one of the smaller rooms, and it had a game table folded up in the closet. The staff is exceptional, with friendly competence and good service as the standard. One final thing I like about the Arizona Inn: although it is not inexpensive, they do not have extra resort fees, parking fees, Internet connection fees, and they even provide several bottles of water in the room, again at no extra charge. Everything is done with class, and with the comfort of the guest as the primary goal.
