“Yu-um! Great sushi in the desert!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 21, 2008

We ate at Sushi King last night for the second time in two weeks (we just discovered it last week). Wow! We were blown away again! The fish is soooo fresh, and the presentation is beautiful. Chef Seiki(?) even introduced us to a technique that we've never seen in offered in any other sushi restaurant: rolls wrapped in soy/sesame paper as opposed to nori. So good...

On a hot Tucson summer evening when the last thing on my mind is cooking (and I love to cook!), nothing hits the spot like supurb sushi and a cold Sopporo. Sushi King will definitely hit "heavy rotation" status in our summer dining repertoire.

If you like great sushi, you must try the King!

“Excellent, Fresh Sushi, Wonderful Staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 2, 2008

For price, quality of food and service, Sushi King has no equals in Tucson.

I go there every week so I can vouch for the consistency.

“Better than anything in DC!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 23, 2008

We came to Tucson for a business trip and happened upon this
hidden sushi oasis is tucked into an unassuming strip mall. The sushi chef, Seki, is the only Tokyo-trained sushi chef in Tucson. Though the ambiance is nothing special, the food is. Seki is a master at his craft. He is quick and traditional with presentation.

The salmon tastes like butter and the mackerel and red snapper are one-of-a-kind! Also, try the plum wine ice cream for dessert (no matter how full you are from the sushi!); it's amazing.

Sit at the bar for quickest service and chat with friendly locals (say Hi to Scott!). You will not be disappointed with the sushi you get at Sushi King!

“The Best!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 31, 2008

I've been eating sushi in Tucson for more than 29 years and I've been following around a great sushi chief to the various places he's worked. Now he has his own restaurant, Sushi King. His name is Sake' and he is a master sushi chief. He offers very fresh fish and seafood presented beautifully in traditional Japanese style. The atmosphere is relaxed and the service great. Sake will often create any kind of special roll you request. Highly recommended!
