“What a find!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 29, 2011

After reading the reviews for several hotels in Tucson, my husband & I decided to try Embassy Suites - Paloma Village. What a find! Hotel is well located on the hillside of Tucson, within walking distance of the Encantada Mall and its wonderful restaturant choices (Blanco) as well as other wonderful restaurants (Tavolinos). The room was quiet and lovely with a view of the mountains. We will definitely stay here again and would highly recommend it to anyone.

We stay at Paloma Village Embassy suites 3 or 4 times a year for one night. It is our favorite of all Embassy Suites. It is one of the more up to date ones and because of my husband extremely low vision they always have a room close to the lobby and bar-restaurant area for us. When we arrived for our stay June 12th there were a few very minor problems with our room that were handled in an extremely fast prompt manner by the front desk.
I love the fresh fruit bowls in the lobby and restaurant area that is available at all times. The breakfast has so much to choose from fresh fruit, juice, bagels, danish, toast, cereal, oatmeal, coffee, tea, milk, hot chocolate, eggs any way you want them, pancakes, waffles, sausage, bacon and hash browns. The eating area is light and airy with views of the pool and mountains.
The beds are very comfortable like most all Hilton hotels. The air conditioner works very well but can be a little noisy at night if you are a light sleeper. As mentioned by others going in and out of the bathroom is can be awkward if you don't keep the closet door closed.
We love eating at Flemings Steak house just across from the lobby.
All the staff is helpful and friendly. The maid did knock on our door at 8:30 AM to clean the room which I thought was a little early. This is a great place to stay in Tucson

Dear Saguarosam,

Thank you very much for your loyalty to our hotel. My staff and I are always so pleased to read such positive comments on our product and services. I do apologize about the early morning disturbance and we will work hard on making sure we do not let this happen in the future. We look forward to your next stay at the Embassy Suites Tucson Paloma Village.

My son, an incoming freshman Wildcat at the University of Arizona, and I spent two days at this property in early June for school orientation. The Pros for me were - newer property (always scores big points with me!), clean, well maintained, nicely furnished and with a walk out balcony, friendly staff, adequate complimentary breakfast, plenty of parking (free), complimentary drinks and food in the evening, nicely equipped fitness room, close to upscale shopping and restaurants (across the street), beautiful views, with a Flemings Steakhouse next door. I could go on and on. I might add that it was a mere 15 minute drive to the University. I honestly can't think of any 'cons' other than it might have been a tad more pricey than what I think the market bears. With the AAA rate we paid $132. a night for a suite with two queen beds. There are other resort properties close by that were actually priced a bit less and also lovely properties with more resort amenities, however for our purposes this property was perfect. Loved it!

Thank you so much for taking the time to post your comments on our hotel. I am so pleased that you enjoyed your stay. I do realize that we are not the least expensive product in the market however, with value ads of a fully cooked to order all you can eat breakfast, complimentary managers reception including cocktails and light snacks each evening and a two room suite, and the fact that there are no hidden costs like resort fees and parking, we feel confident that our accommodations and services consistently exceed what our competition has to offer. We hope that as your travels bring you back to Tucson to visit your son, we can be your home away from home.

Best regards,

We stumbled across this hotel in an online search. I am so glad we did! Beautiful place in a fabulous location. Close to very good dining, art galleries and the best shopping center in Tucson. The breakfast, which is complimentary and cooked to order, was very good. The evening complimentary happy hour was fun. The rooms had the most comfortable beds and the marble countertops and glass shower in the bathroom were wonderful. Staff was warm without being forced and really helpful. Highly recommend.

Dear Shirrab,

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience at our hotel on Tripadvisor! I am so happy to read that you enjoyed your stay. I hope that the next time your travels bring you back to Tucson you choose to stay with us again. I am from Colorado and have very fond memories or Granby and the Grand Lake area as a child; I hope someday soon I can visit your slice of paradise on earth.

I left the embassy suites paloma village this morning and could not wait to review this hotel, we had such a good experience. It is close to the end of alvernon and pima canyon trailheads. There are restaurants and shops in the same development and across the street from many more restaurants and shops. There is so much to do in this area. We enjoyed the art galleries on two of the corners, but never made it to the bigger area. I would definitely choose this hotel again.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 31, 2011

We stayed 3 nights in March and found it to be clean, pleasant and nicely furnished. It’s a newer building, and doesn’t have the large atrium-type décor usually associated with ES. There appeared to be a lot of people staying, but our room was quiet and we were always able to get a table at breakfast.

Breakfast was very good, in fact we arranged (for a reasonable fee) for another couple to join us one morning as we were confident they would enjoy it also. The table staff were particularly friendly and helpful.

The room layout could have been better as there are a multitude of doors in close proximity—yet there’s not one to separate the vanity from the shower, which I really prefer. The bathroom itself was less than comfortable for this average-height woman, as the counter was higher than usual and the shower head was reachable only on tiptoe. There was no tub, but a spacious walk-in shower instead.

Another reviewer noted the lack of stairs. While they’re not prominent, we were able to find and use them without the doorknob issue that person described.

The location was good for us, with family nearby. Sabino Canyon and Catalina State Park are both a short drive. The Desert Museum is about an hour away, and the airport about an hour as well.
