“Hummingbirds!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2013 via mobile

If you want to see hummingbirds, this is the place! There is a viewing station at one of the lodges. The hiking was also great, I loved seeing the change in vegetation with the altitude. Just wonderful, peaceful, a great change from city life.

“Beautiful area”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

Great for hiking and bird watching. One of the top places to watch for birds in the area. You may be lucky to see the elusive Elegant Trogon! Also a B&B has an area with a lot of hummingbird feeders and you can watch the birds zipping around.

“Birds, and maybe a bear”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

Another delightful escape into the mountains: about an hour and a half from Tucson, never crowded, a known center for birdwatchers from all over the country. It's a scenic drive and very pleasant, and yes, I have had a glimpse of a black bear crossing the road there.

“Great for Birders”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

This spot is good for getting outdoors and enjoying nature. Many birders go here to see the hummingbirds and trogons (which come up from Mexico). For hiking, Sabino Canyon may be more awe inspiring.
