We had tickets for a musical and were looking for a place for a drink and some light dinner. A coworker of my wife suggested Cushing Street Bar & Restaurant. The outside of the building is rather plain and does not give you a clue about what us inside. Simply put - our visit to Cushing Street was a wonderful experience. The art-deco interior was wonderful, the wait staff were friendly and attentive, the selections were great and the food was some of the best I've had. Tucson is not a 'foodie" town, most restaurants simply slop food on a plate and plop it on the table. However, Cushing Street was a welcome change to the usual Tucson eating experience. Will I go back - absolutely, and soon! We'll try the patio next time - Spring in Tucson is a great time to dine outside and their patio looked wonderful. I strongly recommend this restaurant, it is my new "favorite." I had the surf 'n turf and a salad that included apples, beets and orange...I've been thinking about that meal ever since. Can't wait to go back.
