“Italian Wedding Soup!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 5, 2013

An old fashioned restaurant. It was fun to try Italian wedding soup, which was great! It's a neighborhood type place, not fancy, & very busy on a Friday night. Hearty food, & was pleasantly surprised when I took a shot in the dark for a red wine & ordered a glass of Malbec from Argentina, & it was delicious! And only $6.50! I didn't want the angel hair pasta with my veal scallopini & the overworked Hungarian waitress was most agreeable to change it.

“Almost like being in Italy”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 3, 2013

Mama Louisa's is very clean and maybe a bit dated, but that can be easily overlooked. Don't come here for fancy service or to experience fine dining. Come here to enjoy great Italian.

The smells coming from the kitchen offerings are wonderful and makes your mouth water. The dining room is painted with Mediterranean scenery all around you.

Lighting is nice and quite subdued. Candles and scenery make it seem kinda .... well maybe a little romantic.

The food is very good and plentiful. We go here every time we visit Tucson and the fact that it is close by the Air Force base makes it even better.

“A Different Dining Experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 11, 2013

You will either love this place or hate it! Don't come here if you are expecting a fine dining experience. The interior is a bit dated and could use some freshening up; however, the food is good, consistent, and plentiful. The soup and salad bar has 2 different soups as well as a nice variety of salad toppings... it is well worth the few extra bucks, and when combined with an entree, will satisfy the heartiest appetite! We had the chicken parmegian, which included a generous portion of chicken plus pasta. The service was good, although the restaurant was not crowded. The bottom line... you won't find anything to rave about here, but you won't spend a fortune, and you won't leave here hungry!

“Mama Louisa's”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 20, 2013

The food was good but the atmosphere was dark. Older folks that have a hard time seeing the menu without brighter lighting would not like going there.
