“Excellent Mexican food for the average Joe”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 10, 2013

This is how to do basic Mexican for the average Joe -- simply tacos, burritos and tortas with the right meats and fix'ins. The salsa they provide is excellent. It is in the heart of south Tucson. Not a date place -- nothing fancy -- just good affordable Mexican food. I'd go back again and again.

“Not fancy, but fabulous food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 10, 2013

If you haven't tried tacos with lengua, birria, and other Mexican delicacies (and you're an adventurous eater who doesn't expect your tacos to taste like Taco Bell) you need to try this place. There's no decor, no table service, no fancy plates, no view (except other diners), nothing but the excellent tasty tacos in a lot of styles. Don't miss it!

“Tacos autenticos”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 17, 2013

During our Tucson winter trip this year, we finished hiking one afternoon and needed a quick snack. Enter Taqueria Pico de Gallo. The restaurant is a small, well-tended little building in South Tucson, painted bright yellow on the outside. The menu is on the wall and quite limited but you can never go wrong with the specialty of the house. In this case, tacos! I ordered two tacos de carne asada and my special someone ordered one of carne asada and one of pollo. An unbelievable amount of good food for $1.60 a taco! The plates come with marinated onions, carrots and two large jalapenos. The corn tortillas are handmade and quite good. My mate ordered the flour tortillas and they were good as well. All in all, don't hesitate to try Taqueria Pico de Gallo due to its location. They are the closest thing to tacos from the estanquillos of Mexico this side of the border. Para chuparse los dedos. (Finger licking good!)
