The Azure Gate is, without question, the nicest B&B we have ever stayed at, and we've stayed at many across the country. We stayed the last week in April in the Santa Anna casita and found that we loved the oasis that Dennis and Christine have made at their B&B so much we decided to spend much of our time by the pool, wandering their beautiful gardens and watching the abundant wildlife right there, rather than driving around Tucson (although the parks to the east and west of town are awesome). The attention to detail they've put into their home makes a stay at the Azure Gate feel like a high-end resort. From the roses on the table upon arrival, to the provided chocolates, fresh coffee beans and grinder, elegant bath robes and sumptuous pool towels, every detail is thought of. And of course, the highlight of each day is the amazing breakfasts prepared by Dennis. They truly are works of art. While we were there we were treated to lobster frittatas (huge lumps of lobster!) with a white bean and gnocci side dish (gnocci were perfect... very tender), and artichoke bruschetta, and on another day to a salmon and asparagus eggs benedict that was fantastic.
Dennis and Christine are such warm and generous hosts that you leave feeling relaxed, happy and wanting to come back again as soon as possible. A wonderful experience!
