“Great afternoon trip in Tucson”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 23, 2013

Was there in September...102 at 1pm at the base of the road. After a few short stops at the top (past the ski lifts) was a blissful 60! The drive up is beautiful, you start in a cactus wonderland after ~4k it changes into a green low scrub looking area. At 7k you abruptly start seeing a proliferation of coniferous and it gets denser the higher up you go.

The drive isn't too scary, long gentle switchbacks. Make sure you have gas as there isn't any to be had at the top...tis 25 miles or so each way.

The top had beautiful views of Tucson and beyond. There is a nice little ski restaurant that serves sandwiches and craft beer. In Summerhaven - a little village - there is a cute store that sells yummy but pricey cookies...worth it though as a treat.

Great way to spend an afternoon, comes highly recommended.

“Mt. Lemon is cool!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 22, 2013

Especially when it's HOT in Tucson! The drive to the top is not for the squeamish, but the views along the way are incredible. The road twists and turns along the way and much of time your on the edge of mountain. If you want to escape the heat of the desert, head up to Mt. Lemon for an afternoon. You can stop at many places along the way and take pictures or go for a hike. Check out the amazing rock formations or go for a picnic. Don't forget to stop and breathe in the pine trees when you reach the top! Sit for awhile, take in the ambience and cool off!

“Winding Roads and Beautiful Vistas”

Several areas where you pull over and appreciated the beautiful views. Make sure you take a ride to the summit and enjoy a beverage or meal at the local watering hole.

“Beautiful!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 19, 2013

You have to experience this. On your drive to the top, you can experience every Boisphere on the way up. You start at the desert floor and go all the way up to the alpin almost. It is truely something beautiful!

“A Beautiful Drive to the Top of a Mountain”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 16, 2013

It was a gorgeous day...clear skies and hot in the desert, yet cool in Summerhaven. We ate a bowl of ice cream at 9000' and visited the funky gift shop. I totally like Tucson better than Phoenix...will visit here again! Fasten your seat belts and enjoy the ride.
