“Good food, reasonable prices, beautiful decor.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 14, 2012

Founded in 1939, same location, this family knows about cooking mexicano food. Their spin on Caldo Queso (con papas) is excellent. Lunch time this is quickly served and comes with a side cheeze quesadea. At 7$ this is tough to beat. The combo plates are all very good restaurant. The Carne Seca is excellent.

“Great Mexican Food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 1, 2012

Drove downtown for dinner at El Minuto on Tuesday. Landmark Mexican restauarant, just south of the TCC. Been there since 1939. Had a cheese and chili quesadilla (cheese crisp) with a house margarita for me and a Dos Equis for my wife. Followed with chicken flautas and tacos, which we split. Both dinners came with beans and rice. Excellent. This is the way Mexican food is supposed to taste. Sat on the patio, small, but adequate. Great evening. Would highly recommend it.

“Perfect Place to Dine When at the Convention Center”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 14, 2012

Delicious Mexican food walking distance from the Convention Center. The soups are the best in town . Try the calabacitas!

“Can't stay away!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 11, 2012

I have bneen going to this restaurant regularly for lunch for almost 15 years. Its not uncommon for me to go two or three times per week. I have never had a meal there that I didn't like and I think I have tried just about everything on their menu!!! Their cheese crisps are fried to a crisp, not baked so they aren't dry! Sometimes I have a hard time deciding and sometimes my friend and I each order a meal and then share the entrees. The service is always outstanding. Their lunch menu is perfect for a filling, inexpensive meal with quite a vriety. They are my absolutely most favorite mexican restaurant ever!!
