“Delicious!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 8, 2013

We were there for lunch. Food was absolutely delicious. They only give you a fork because everything is so tender. Our waiter was fast and very friendly. We figured because it was crowded it must be good, And it was. We really did not have to wait long to be seated.

“Newer El Charro near Oro Valley”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 6, 2013

Great happy hour. Terrific house margaritas, beer,& house wine prices. Delicious half price appetizers. Lovely atmosphere inside and out. The patio is nice (with misters) even in the desert heat. Highly recommend this location.

“Solid Mexican restaurant”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 4, 2013

El Charro is a solid choice for Mexican food, and it's easy to see why it's so popular. It has all of the usual Mexican foods, plus nice touches like an option to make any burrito into a chimichanga, and moreover, with a choice of sauces. The aged shredded beef called Carne Seca was particularly excellent in my chimichanga. Also nice - the restaurant has multiple small rooms and eclectic decor, so you don't feel crowded. The only downside on our visit was that the server brought us the wrong check by mistake and then for some reason it took 15-20 minutes - with a manager assisting - for them to print the correct check for us.

“Great good and incredible local color”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 30, 2013

This is the most unique of Mexican restaurants in Tucson. You must sit inside to experience the fabulous and bright colors - the walls, the decorations, the fireplace. The food is excellent. My favorite - spinach enchiladas.

“Grande Grupo”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 27, 2013

2 dinners-Memorial Day weekend

Nice patio, thank goodness for the umbrellas to block the sun. Waitress & waiter attentive
& polite on our two visits. First meal: chile relleno plate and #3 combo--both very good,
generous portions. Second meal: two appetizers: fresh made guacamole and the
el grupo--this was the truly outstanding meal--everything nicely presented and each
item had good, distinct flavors--portions were such that the two of us easily made a meal
of the two appetizers. It was a nice touch that the appetizers & house drinks were
half price during happy hour.
Location is good for downtown and not too far off the interstate.
