“Good but not Great”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 16, 2014

The idea of having no typical menu makes you feel that you're in for an amazing evening of fun and edible delights. But we found that the meals were just okay overall. The tamale's were terrific along with mole sauce. The meat was tough, both beef and chicken. Then they garnish the plates with a confusing arrangement which left you wondering if it was a salad or just for looks. Because I didn't see any dressing. I do have to say that the chocolate cake was not only memorable but we go downtown just to have dessert there. It comes with fresh whipping cream, assorted berries and a HUGE piece of perfectly warm chocolate cake that after you bite into it and absorb the sweetness, you get hit with a delightful hint of spicy pepper. Do yourself a favor and get down there for this dessert and hopefully your meals are pleasing to you as well. Lastly, I prefer a glass a Modelo Negro with my meal..........

“Elegant Mexican Dining”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 13, 2014

Cafe Poca Cosa gives you an elegant dining with a Mexican flair. The presentation of the food is just lovely. Someone mentioned inedible garnishes…I know we all gobbled down those pineapple slices and thoroughly enjoyed them. Don't expect your typical enchilada, chile verde, taco experience. Expect to pay a premium for very fresh in-season food carefully thought out and prepared. The servers are knowledgable and work hard to make you feel comfortable and to make sure you are enjoying your experience. Don't be afraid to ask questions…you will not feel intimidated or humiliated by not being able to take in the whole menu after it has been explained by the server. There are a lot of choices on the menu and "heat" is not a major component. Tucson now has many wonderful restaurants at many price points. Save this for a special occasion where you won't mind paying a higher price. The restaurant was busy, but we were able to carry on a conversion at our table. I can't imagine anyone not enjoying the meal.

“Overrated”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 11, 2014

The food was average at best. Tiresome menu - hype from waitress explaining every dish in glowing terms from a chalkboard. Our meals -- the mole combo plate -- did not live up to her overwrought billing. Our plate was decorated by inedible garnishes, including a large piece of pineapple rind.

“Love eating here!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 3, 2014

I make a point of coming here every time I'm in Tucson. The food is always wonderful, as are the margaritas. Enjoy the menu but order the Chef's Choice - you just can't go wrong with it!

“Third time visit not as enthusiastic”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 2, 2014

My memory of this place is that it was amazing. Food is still interesting, and cocktails good, but the atmosphere doesn't seem as good, nor does the service. Still good, just not amazing.
