There are a few Sunday Brunch locations in and around the Tucson area; all quite good. This time, we decided to try the Grill at Hacienda del Sol. Initially, we were impressed with the surrounding grounds, architecture and dining room. In addition, the welcome greeting of all personnel was refreshing and let us know this would be a pleasant experience. We were brought to a table for two that was tucked away in a corner and asked if we could have a beter one, near a window (the place was not full by any means). We were seated at the requested window without a problem.
Once our server, Paul, got involved with us, things went very well. The busser wasn't quite with it, spilling champagne, mixing up the requested mimosa flavoring (orange juice or blood orange)
The array of food was equal to any brunch in town; shrimp, cheese board, all kinds of veggies, omelett station, breads, cold cuts, etc. But, the eggs benedict were excellent. A very nice, unique, flavor. The carving station served up the best tender roast beef I've had at a brunch and their ribs were impeccable.
The only down side, especially for my wife, was a less than full dessert selection. It was no comparison to the dessert table at the Canyon Cafe at Ventana Canyon.
All in all, the $38 price tag, including all the champagne you can legally enjoy, was well worth it.
