“Pleasant Stay with great professional & friendly service”

First time at this Hotel. The front desk team was very professional and welcome us. We had booked at "Club Level" and had a two room suite, which was a pleasant surprise. Ivan at the Club Lounge provided an outstanding service. He is very attentive, detailed, patient with kids, and always smiling. Victor at the restaurant/bar was also very professional and friendly. They both love their job and are an asset for the hotel. Nice Pool, Small Gym, and jacuzzi. Overall very pleasant stay with good professional and friendly service.

Stayed here for one night in June on our way from California to Carlsbad Caverns. Perfect pitstop for our family. Kids were able to play outside in the pool after a long day in the car. We booked a room with two full beds, but were offered a one bedroom suite with a king bed and pull out sofa for a $15 upgrade fee. Since we had gotten a great room rate on Hotwire.com, we took it and I'm very glad we did. Both the living room and bedroom were very spacious; We weren't stepping over each other at all. The room was clean and updated. It was evident in the elevator areas that the hotel was aging, but the lobby and rooms were updated and comfortable. We decided on room service for dinner since nobody felt like getting back in the car for dinner. The prices weren't outrageous, the food was good, and we didn't have to wait long to get it. All of the hotel staff was very friendly and went out of their way to be of service. We were on the second floor, and didn't hear other guests at all, though the hotel wasn't full either. I'd definitely recommend this hotel if you're looking for a comfortable, reasonably priced hotel with great service, that's higher end than the average affordable hotel.

We are in the middle of moving halfway around the world and have been here a week now. The staff is always pleasant and have more than gone out of their way to help me find my cat who slipped out this morning. They have notified all personnel and they have been so detrimental in helping me find him. The hotel itself is wonderful even for long term despite the lack of a microwave in our room, the 24/7 Starbucks is always open for our daily 550am departures. I just wish I could track down my cat.

We have had some really great stays at this property in the past and are very disappointed to see how the service has declined. We immediately filled out their on-line survey thinking we would be contacted with some sort of apology however were not so we feel that it is best to write a review warning others of the decline in this property.

Our reservation was for two beds...I think due to an upgrade we lost the 2 beds, no big deal, we appreciated the upgrade greatly, we placed a request for a roll away bed and left the room. When we came back from an exhausting day there was no bed in the room. After 6 plus hours we had to call for a bed. The staff that finally brought the bed was rude. We left the go green tag on the door however we were not given the points in exchange for no room service; we had to follow up with Starwood weeks later. This property always wowed us regarding their service and the options served in the club lounge...both went drastically downhill. The food in the club lounge was dried out, not refreshed and poor quality. The staff did leave us with snacks and a nice note in our room due to our personal reason for staying with them for the weekend and that made up for not being able to have appetizers in the lounge however we were very disappointed to see how the snacks in the lounge had gone downhill. The breakfast buffet in the restaurant was not appealing and the service was horrible, beyond slow and non-efficient. Last summer they had live music by the pool, they no longer have this. First morning our key stopped working, had to wait over 10 minutes for someone to come to the front desk, no staff around. The bathtub had a very slow drain and the internet service in the room was not good. The carpet in the room was very old and had multiple large dark stains. The rooms are in need of an upgrade, this did not bother us in the past because they wowed us in all other areas. We left overall disappointed this time.

Green Features: We appreciate that they recycle in the rooms however we feel that if they offer points for their going green program we should not have to check and re-check to get them.

We've stayed at this hotel twice, both times we've booked via hotwire. The first time was in August 2008 and was excellent. The second stay was pretty standard. The room itself was comfortable, the bathroom was tiny though. The pool closes at 9pm m-th and they're not shy about kicking you out. The onsite restaurant is expensive and not worth it for the quality of food. 4 coffees, 2 hot chocolates, and 2 smore kits = $40.

It's hard for these old hotels to stay modern and current. When they are refurbished, the lobby and soft goods (bedding etc) are generally updated but the rest of the room remains outdated. So it is with this hotel, which has a lovely modern lobby and a charming staff. I was upgraded to the Presidential Suite, which was an awkward space with outdated furnishing. The carpets were worn and dirty and the AC was noisy and did not cool as much as i would have liked. Will not be staying here again until this hotel is thoroughly updated.

Really enjoyed my 2 night stay here! Wonderful room, lovely pool area, helpful & friendly staff & conveniently located to everyplace I needed/wanted to go in Tucson while visiting my son. And I got a fantastic rate using Priceline! I highly recommend it!
