“What a great, relaxing place to stay!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 31, 2010

El Rancho Merlita is located on the Northeast edge of Tucson, yet it is close to all of Tucson's best attractions and restaurants. Pattie, the hostess, made us feel right at home. The inn is classic 1950s and 1960s with lots of nice modern touches...thick bathrobes, comfortable beds, interesting art work, inviting grounds, computer, rec room, etc. When we visited we had just finished a bike ride around Southern Tucson, yet we saw more wildlife at ERM than on our trip, including javalinas, coyotes, road runners, quail, and hummingbirds. We highly recommend this inn to anyone who wants a taste of old and new Tucson. Oh yes, we met another couple who had been there for several days. Pattie arranged a spa day for the wife who said that it was wonderful.

After spending many days agonizing over my choice of B&B in Tucson, we were not disappointed in our final decision. El Rancho Merlita is a beautiful hideaway - romantic and elegant. I was reared in a country inn, and we have stayed in B&B's from California and Washington to Maine. This is a real jewel, and Pattie is a marvelous hostess. Merl Norman's suite is definitely worth it!
Although it is about a 20-minute drive, we also recommend having dinner at "The Dish". It was a unique and memorable experience.
